I'm so glad that Aoki-san toyed with Guy. Would've been a bit dull if he'd have left him for dust! Clear show of respect on display by both.

Guy's definitely taken on board the Japanese etiquette briefing that he's been given. Just a little thing, but notice how he hands over his gift to Aoki-san at the end, presenting it with both hands - very respectful. Way to go, Guy!

Agree...except for his bow. Aoki-San bowed very low, head down, and held his position... while Guy initially went partially and abruptly...lower and longer is respect and honor... Fun race BTW-👍

Two fellows from completely different parts of the world, with an equal passion for motorcycles. I think guy should invite him to the isle of mann tt. I feel he would be impressed!!

Great guy, that Guy! Greetz from Holland
If I remember correctly, this form of racing was included in the Movie "On Any Sunday 2". It's very old, and it's foundation is for gambling, just like horse racing.
Imagine holding a gift that was given to you by Guy Martin. That will be a tapestry in that guys life forever.
3:04 Guy has clearly been briefed on Japanese customs on politeness. When handing over a gift, present it holding it with both hands and it should get accepted with two hands (like it does). This is typically also done in when handing over name cards.

So I made Japanese subtitle for this video. It's "txt" file. I have sent an message about same thing to your official contact page. I hope you would reply it.
What's with the Japanese rider's shoulder pads? These bikes remind me of the photos I have seen of wooden track racers circa 1910.
Nice race
Tea towel good on ya guy what better or more useful thing than a tea towel👍👍👍👍👍👍

Tops Guy. Bonnie's all around EU + the odd Suzi, F800Gs Adv in AU, but traveling the UK for a few years on my C90 with that bitching semi auto was a fond memories great crack other than the buggers in cars pulling out on you thinking you were doing 30 on a moped when you were doing 53mph. Good on you Guy for all your great work cheers mate, hope to meet up one day...
I Love This Tradition in Japan.
I think the japanese dude use to be a rider at worldsbk with ducati and gp125cc 2x champ??
can any riders explain why they lean into turns with their legs popped out like that? as opposed to keeping their foot on the bar and having their knees swing out into the lean
please make your videos longer Guy!
Love to see Guy on a proper speedway bike. John McGuinness has had a go.

You know that "Japanese geezer" is a 2-time 125cc World Champion, right? He could destroy Guy Martin on a SBK even today. Haruchika was just born in the wrong era as he was given God-awful bikes for 250cc (non-factory Honda) and 500cc (TSR-Honda). I always said he was the fastest Aoki, even better than Suzuki factory rider Nobuatsu or HRC rider Takuma, but they never gave him a chance.

Guys respect is unreal.
This is a cross between Speedway and Flat track racing. Dirt is better then asphalt. The bike is more like a Speedway bike. I would go and see Speedway racing at Irwindale Ca. back in the late 70's. One of the riders of this sport was Billy Gray (Bud) from Father knows best . It was on a 1/4 mile race track. No brakes, 500 cc Jawa motors and the bike was the size of a 10 speed bike, maybe a little bigger ,but not much.If you can't cross it up in the corners it is no fun.
