Tony's life story: "I grew up on a romaine lettuce farm. One day, I was rudely kidnapped by humans and processed into a salad! Oh, the indignity! The human salad-eater that found me took pity on me, and after many escape attempts from that dreadful salad box, he settled me into a proper home and became my butler. I now spend my days being cute in a fancy glass house feasting on crickets." Edit: Wow, the 2.4K likes are really unexpected to come back to. Appreciate the positive comments from folks. Thanks, guys! Also, thanks to The Dodo and folks like Simon for bringing us these amazing stories. Cheers! :)

"Tony" appears to be a little Green Treefrog. Pretty common out here in the East Texas Piney Woods. And they can make good pets too, especially for a kid learnin' how to care for his pets, livestock, etc. I might suggest gettin' a few twigs in the Terrarium that would be big enough for him to climb on. And watch him as he grows. If he gets pretty gold speckles on his back, then he's definitely Tony, and not Antonia. ; )

I found a forest frog at summer camp. He was so tiny. The boys were going to use him as fishing bait and I freaked out. (I was 7). So one of our counselors got me a coffee can and a little water bowl and I kept him and brought him home. My Dad was so great like my best friend. My Godfather was a local forest warden. He came by and they talked me into letting him go in an area where fishing wasn't allowed. I still don't know if that part was 100% true. But it made me feel like my Godfather was keeping an eye on Henry my buddy. The next year at summer camp those boys handcuffed me to a tree. Still worth it!

His new terrarium looks awesome. That’s a well designed terrarium. Providing soil with live plants, and misting the enclosure every day, along with a little water dish that he can soak in, makes for a great environment. Fake plants are okay, but live plants are better. Sometimes it’s hard to keep live plants alive in a terrarium though. The wood hide out in the makeshift/temporary terrarium is a good touch. I also put sticks in my terrarium for my gray tree frog, Mr. Chubs to climb on. He liked to sit and chill out on them. He liked to bury himself in the soil often. I think it’s funny that he put romaine lettuce in Tony’s makeshift/temporary terrarium being that he was found in a container of romaine lettuce, lol.

I used to work in a grocery store and occasionally people would bring food back for "finding" weird items in their packages. That aside, I have seen frogs, insects, mice, and spiders (like a Black Widow) occasionally coming with prepackaged salads. Mainly because they are so small they can grip the vegetables and survive the sorting machines. They grow up on the way to the store/fridge.
