Gus Johnson Best College Basketball Calls (March Madness)
Спорт
Gus Johnson's best NCAA basketball calls! Subscribe if you enjoyed! Gus Johnson called NCAA Tournament for CBS from 1996 until 2011. Some iconic games Gus has been on the call for include Gonzaga/UCLA (2006), Florida/Gonzaga (1999), and Xavier/Kansas State (2010). He also called a couple of games from Davidson's Elite 8 run where Steph Curry emerged as a star. Johnson, employed by Fox since leaving CBS in 2011, is known for his infectious energy and passion, and he has certainly given us and continues to give us passion-filled calls, whether in basketball, football, or whatever sport he calls.
This video contains mainly clips from March Madness, but there are a fair share of non-NCAA Tournament games as well. I made sure to put his best and most well-known calls while also supplying some lesser-known ones. Also, since the 2000's weren't exactly the best for video quality, some of these clips look like they were filmed with a potato. However, Gus Johnson's amazing calls can still be heard.
I do not own any of these clips. All rights and credit goes to the NCAA and the owners of the clips.

True. Considering that the historical matchups always seem to fall on his lap. From the very beginning. His first march madness game was #15 Princeton upsetting the defending national champions and #2 UCLA in 1996

Gus Johnson is a legend. "The slipper still fits" is one of greatest lines an announcer has ever uttered.
“And we’re going to overtime. IN LEXINGTON” followed by the most beautiful “HAHA” in all of sports

It's a shame Gus never got to call Final Four games. I can just imagine his reaction to Kris Jenkins hitting that National Championship buzzer beater in 2016.

9:22 Gus Johnson screaming “HEART-BREAK CITY!” While Adam Morrison is tearing up is the reason why we watch sports on television. Unbelievable theater. One of the greatest calls of all time

I felt bad for him ...... that Gonzaga team was great and had a lot of March Madness heartbreak.
the way he screams on the last shot in the UCLA vs Gonzaga game is so hilarious. "BATISTA WITH THE CAAAAATCH!!"
“He’s gonna do it Himself!” - Gus Johnson is so Awesome
Just look at Gus at the bottom of the very first clip. Bottom right in the pink dress shirt. He's a fan too. Calling it like we would.
Gus Johnson's proudest moment during his illustrious career as a commentator probably had to do with having predicted Curry's potential for greatness from the get-go.
This man could make a blowout sound like Rock vs Austin at Wrestlemania 17
You know its gonna be a great game when you hear "Hi I'm Gus Johnson"
Is it safe to say Gus Johnson is the best play by play announcer of all time

"Crawford's gotta hurry" is my favorite moment in basketball history. Just unreal. As a 13 year old kid, that one was life changing.

This is why Gus Johnson is the G.O.A.T. of all College Basketball games, [Including March Madness too with all the HYPED-UP]!!
"The Law of Gus" Any basketball game becomes 10x better when he calls the game.
6:44 is amazing, the mic almost broke he was screaming so loud 😂

And KU went on to win the whole thing. The only two games in the tourney that year that gave KU a run. Davidson and, obviously, Memphis in the finals.
Love Gus Johnson!
Gus Johnson My Man!
Kevin Harlan and Gus Johnson calling a game together would be 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
2:41 my favorite GJ call ever.
I remember when Gus Johnson called CFL games on ESPN in the 90's.
The slipper still fits easily the best of all time
I love gus Johnson man. The best
I will always remember him because of 8:44 and his call on Jamal Crawford's gamewinner against Denver.
I’m convince that Gus Johnson is the best announcer in the modern era of sports. This guy could make me watch cricket and still be entertained.
one of my fav announcers. always luved that Allan Houston game winner vs Miami in 99 Gm 5..."running jumppaaa, off the front rim, and innnn"
Loved to hear him in March Madness!!!!!
With Jim Nantz calling his last final 4 this year, hopefully CBS gets us Gus!!

My favorite Gus Johnson calls: 1. Literally all of them
UNBELIEVABLE!
Gus Johnson could call one of the beginning rounds of the NIT Tournament and have you off your seat thinking it was the NCAA National Championship!
2:48-2:55 is so fun. What a wild shot and what fun reactions to that shot from everybody who watched it.
Love this. You cut out the best part of the Gonzaga vs Oklahoma St Game. After Morrison’s jumper….Gus randomly screams “Larry Bird!
The Gus Johnson and Jimmie Jackson pairing has been a pleasure.
Wow, best bball commentator ever. As exciting as football.

Batista with the CAAAAAAAATCH!!!

Gus gets excited when he gets dressed
Miss Gus Johnson in the NFL
Awesome announcer. Would make even peewee soccer exciting!!!
Gus would be great at baseball. Played at the University of Detroit. If the Detroit Tigers get to the MLB playoffs in the near future, don't be surprised if Fox puts him on specifically for those games. He's a diehard Tiger fan.
Missed the best call from the K-State-Xavier game! Pullen straight away!

😂😂
Can we just analyze young Steph Curry not finding any place to shoot on that final possession in the Davidson/Kansas game. I mean after the one guy fell, either dish it off or try to draw a pick to get an open look instead of dribbling into a double-team and forcing a bad shot from a teammate off the pass. Who knew he makes bad decisions 😂
Come back 2 cbs gus

Gus Johnson might get the number 1 play by play announcer for the NFL on Fox. Joe Buck went to ESPN with Troy Aikman
You needed to include Myles Powell's go-ahead basket prior to Kentucky's game-tying shot in the Seton Hall-Kentucky clip.

Thanks for sharing, and thanks for watching the video! I did think about including the go-ahead shot, but I decided not to include it because I didnt think it was worthy enough to be put in amongst all the other clips. He displayed the same great energy he always does when he yelled "Pure!," but I didnt think it was enough to put it in the compilation though. Again, thanks for watching!

I’m sorry, but WHY did Curry not launch the ball against Kansas - I’m SURE that absolute haunts him! The pride of Davidson! The Law of Gus! Shoot it, man! If String Theory is proven, imagine the universes where Curry sinks Kansas!
BAUTISTA WITH THE CAAATCH!!!!
The UCLA vs Gonzaga game alone should put him in the Naismith Hall of Fame.

Why was ravio the only one trying at the end of the UCLA game
