@@santyarma7877 for a given quantity of fuel, combustion requires a certain amount of heat and oxygen. Within the fryer there is lots of heat, but little oxygen or gas. The splash diffuses the heat to parts of the room with the right fuel-air mixture. A chemist could give more details.

I lived in ABQ, and I remember years ago seeing this building(on Gibson Blvd just outside of KAFB) randomly have a Los Pollos Hermanos sign with a fence around it. It looked like it had been blown up, and they would cover the LPH sign during the day. I watched BCS in anticipation of seeing this exact scene for so long

@@nixxonbaybay1 Well I believe they film the entire season before the first episode of the season debuts on TV, especially if the episodd airs in the end of the seaon. So you figure they spent 3-5 months filming the sesaon then a similar amount of time to edit the season . So they probably filmed that episode at least 6 months before it

at 2:53 that little tremble. either from rage, frustration or dare I say sadness. even if it was just a front, he put years of work in this store. real, exhausting work. The perfectionist and hardworking Los Pollos Hermanos Gus was just as real as the drug lord Gus. even if the true intent was just to hide his side business... he still poored his heart and soul running a business. must have been gut wrenching at the very least. and judging from his expression and body language, maybe a bit heart breaking.

This scene is very poetic. Los Polos Hermanos have thrived in business for using only the freshest ingredients when making their food. And it shows that GUS knows that the one thing that could ruin the restaurant is if they ever switched to FROZEN chicken - which is why he used it to destroy his store.

It makes sense in this context. Gus is an extremely pragmatic, no-nonsense person, and he's especially not going to be entertained watching his own business go up in flames. Giancarlo does, as usual, an excellent job conveying Gus's state of mind just with his body language; you can tell he's seething at being compelled to do this. He's not going to manifest his rage, because that's not his style, but he's using all his will to maintain his composure and to that end has absolutely no desire to observe the destruction.

I love how in the grand scheme of the show, this scene was used to demonstrate how Gus really never had to do any of this. So thematically powerful.

I thought it was funny at the time i first watched this how into destroying all of gus’ stuff nacho was, but looking back, it’s cause he was. He hated Gus, and even though he was told to, and Gus lost essentially nothing, I’d imagine this was pretty satisfying for him, even the idea of destroying something Gus had built up for once

It had a very poetic quality of him releasing all the pent-up anxiety and anger of the situation he got caught up in with Fring and the Salamancas. Music choice was just perfect by Gould & Gilligan.

Very similar to the destruction of the lab sequence in BB. The way both of these duos are people with different values who work together to destroy something is so poetic

I don’t know why it cracks me up every time when it shows Gus being gentle and precise with every movement then cuts to Nacho whacking stuff with a crowbar

Thought that maybe the chicken would at some point start to burn, or the splashing of the oil could ignite the gas, but that seemed way to far fetched. Now I have an answer thx. Ive been working in kitchens for a good chunk of my life, and i can tell you, yea, this is totally feasable way to blow up a kitchen, but the explosion would likely stay inside the kitchen, resulting fires would take the rest of the building, and doing it this way ensures the fire safty system has no chance.

Gus turns the gas on at the very beginning, and there’s a whole bunch of cuts indicating that more time has passed than we’re aware of. I’d estimate they were probably in there for 20-30 minutes? By that point I doubt the explosion would still be confined to the kitchen

This scene actually proves that Gus has OCD. As Lyle couldn't clean the dishwashers properly, Gus was not satisfied and he blew up the whole restaurant. This shows that you should never mess with Gus.

Gus is legit business man at heart. He checks the properness of his equipment even when he is going to destroy the entirety of it. His quality control is 10/10. Both legit business and non legit business 😂

His labs have top of the line commercial equipment, his valuable batter buckets use an ultraviolet stamp, his kitchen and freezer are impeccably clean. He keeps low stock and even then only uses a cooler, avoiding frozen food. He holds all his businesses to very high standards.

I love the scene where Los Pollos Hermanos blows up. Shows how explosive the writing can be.

If you look close enough you can see the los pollos hermanos restaurant explode, nice detail by Vince.

it's the little details that make this show a masterpiece!!!!!

One of the hardest scenes in the show, music was on point. The had no right to make this, this hard

Gotta love a good camera being utilised to capture a chicken slipping and sliding. Edit: Holy Molly that's so many likes!

i like how gus spins the chikcen before taking it. He clearly has manners

I like how Gus casually checks the Grease fryer nets to make sure they’re clean… all the while filling the whole place with naturally explosive gasses that will just char them over 😂

Just imagine being an employee going into work the next day, and seeing your place of business just completely scorched to the ground as you pull up.

I worked at a firewood packing plant that burned down overnight and ya..it was devastating.

Anyone notice how Gus leaving the chicken to fall into the oil to create the explosion similar to how Walt destroys Gus' lab by leaving the wire on the floor

I like how there is only one frozen chicken in the shot, kinda implies that gus always has an explosion chicken waiting to go

Great acting from giancarlo. I love how he didnt break his acting when the whole building blew up and managed to keep calm while entering the car and then leaving off without the scene cutting at all. I love it

These guys really put 110% into their work

This is on par with Walter and Jesse blowing up the laundry. Jesse thrashes the chemical barrels, Nacho thrashes the restaurant. Walter uses the chemicals, his forte, for the explosion. Gus, his forte, the chicken in the kitchen!

*little does he know a high school chemistry teacher would out do him*

I just realised something. In around late season 4, Gus says he currently has seven los pollos hermanos restaurants. Him and Nacho blow this one up leaving Gus with 6 branches. Six. “Salamancas always get six.”

Intersting that this isn’t THE Los Pollos Hermanos. It’s a second location, filmed at a different site.

After Walt and Jesse had there montage of destroying the lab, Gus decided he should have one too.

Technically it happened the other way around in terms of the timeline but I get your point

1216 to 1261 is still hilarious when you find out 1261 is the address to the restaurant Dog House. its basically the center of the breaking bad universe and a super coincidence of numbers that Saul Goodman was able to use to his advantage.

The way Lalo was laughing when he saw it in the paper and Jimmy was like what’s so funny 😆

It makes it much more legendary since these two were both in the farcry series.

If that chicken slipped sooner he’d be Two-Face much earlier in the cannon

one of the few instances where nacho probably likes his job remove random crits

I love this scene from the music, to the distant coyote sounds towards the end.

His business was really blowing up. Literally.

I loved the music. It was perfect.

What's funny is how Nacho goes destroying stuff which is going to burn anyway...I think he just wanted to get it out of his system. And Gus is inspecting how clean Lyle has left the fryer.

everyones calling anything a foreshadowing now. I could go open a door right now and 10 years later it would foreshadow me opening the same door again

Imagine a scene like his death where it pans around and reveals that his spine is exposed

I said this is one of the few scenes in BCS where Gustavo Fring actually feels like Gus from BB. The actor and writers do a great job throughout, but generally it feels like 2 different characters. This is BB Gus Fring.

A fantastic and heartbreaking scene of an amazing prequel of an already amazing show🎉😢

It’s hard to see gus and think this was many years before Walter white came along you can tell he looks nearly 10 years older on BCS lol

Nacho in real life must have had so much fun breaking things and slitting sofas

You just know that for like half of that stuff that Nacho was wrecking and breaking and stabbing that he was imagining it was Gus' face

I love how Gus is calmly setting up a genius contraption while Nacho is just smashing everything up and going crazy

The music in the background (Yma Sumac - Chuncho) gives it such a great touch. Its haunting, but pairs great with the scene.

Love the way Nacho's trashing the joint & Gus is casting an inspector's eye over the deep fryer pans.😁
