Guruvayur is a small coastal town in Kerala famous for the 5000 Years old Guruvayurappan temple where the prankish heart stealer Lord Krishna is worshipped as Unnikrishnan (i.e Balgopal). In terms of popularity, it ranks with Tirupathi. Millions of people visit the temple every day to fullfill their wish of having good health, wealth, married life and a healthy child.
The Guruvayur Temple is one of the most important and revered temples in India and is considered to be one of the 108 Divya Desams, which are the most sacred shrines dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is also known for its healing powers and is believed to have cured several devotees of various ailments. .
BEST WAYS TO REACH GURUVAYUR TEMPLE:-
By Train: All major cities are connected by train till Thrissur and from Thrissur you can catch train till The Guruvayur railways station. Which is just 700 mtrs. away from temple.
By Flight: Kochi and Calicut are the two nearest airports. From there you can use local bus or a taxi to get to the temple.
By Road: KSRTC bus services run from various parts of the state and a few interstates’ locations. It’s easy to get here by car from anywhere in the country

There is a multilevel car parking facility available at Guruvayur Temple. A big and convenient complex that can accommodate 700+ cars. For Car they charge 30/- rupees for parking. This parking center is very close to temple. Lift also available. Washroom facilities are also there

TEMPLE TIMINGS:-
Throughout the year, the Guruvayur Temple remains open.
At 7:00 A.M, the Palabhishekam (Abhishekam with milk), Navabhishekam (Abhishekam with nine silver pots filled with water), and Pantiradinaivedyam are performed.
From 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM, the Guruvayur Temple remains closed.
Between 7:30 PM and 8:15 PM, Athazha Pooja and Athazha Naivedyam are performed.
Between 9 PM and 9:15 PM, the Tripuka (worshipping the shrine with nine sacred gums) and Olavayana (reading out the day’s income and expenditure) take place.
