I really like this video, but I do disagree with the last factor; if you give the guppy fry light, it could trigger growth. When its daytime, fish are more active, and that's why it would trigger their growth. Once the fry grow up, then they won't need to be scared about being eaten.

@Catthulhu 666 420 absolutely also your hornwart will grow roots into your lava rock just start it off by tying it on with cotton don't just rest the rock on it or it will kill it off at the bottom and the top with then float up

guys be careful when you feed your guppy veggies.one time i gave them a lettuce the whole tank of guppies, parents and fries died.maybe there was insect repellent on it.make sure to clean it thoroughly.i was so devastated that i stopped caring for guppies. but after watching fish4ever, she made me jump into this hobby again.now i have a pair of golden guppies.im planning to breed them and have an army of golden babies.wish me luck!

I’d usually just move the mothers so they can give birth in a separate tank then move them back once they’re finished

For some reason my guppies do not cannibalize much. I think it’s cuz they were crossed with endlers. I’ve even started to introduce tetras as means of population control since I don’t have another tank.

Thanks sooo much especially since thinking of having guppies and possibly having them breed.

The fry keep hiding in the gravel and get chased by the adult male and female..especially the male chases them...what do I do? I just sprinkle pellets all over the tank so it reaches them. I am aware of ammonia levels rising but no other choice

How long do I blanch the veggies before putting them in the tank?

I guess you need to buy a pair of assassin snails to take care of the black snails. As those black snails will breed so fast

I feed them when they’re having fry so they don’t eat them when i’m gone

Peyman Shamtoub Yes, I used a bin tank many years ago as a temporary transport tank and a few days later I had so many guppy fry! It was definitely due to the dark levels of light. Thanks for watching! :)

How do you keep such vibrant plants with those snails? I bought plants online that were infested with small eggs and my tank got overwhelmed with snails very quickly and the eggs were thick, all over everything. They annihilated every single bit of plant life in my tank. Had to empty everything and do a peroxide soak of the tank, substrate and everything else in the tank.

I just have a swordtail and I mix it with guppies, sadly guppies try to eat the swordtails.

Love balloon mollies but guppies african cichlids and calico convict cichlids and red tail catfish🐠 are my favorite

What plant did you feed them?

We had baby Cichlids for the first time. Me and my dad were so happy when we saw those little buds. We left the fishes with their parents since they were guarding them. Once it was feeding time the fish food landed near the babies and the adults excluding the parents ate both the food and the babies. God I got so fucking pissed.

I miss keeping guppies, but for some reason all the guppies from my lfs’s always seem to either have or get a disease once I bring them home. So I feel like they just don’t do good due to the water quality here where I’m from.

Lfs guppies usually do carry diseases but you should hit them with medication right when you bring them home to clear out any diseases or parasites

Bruh without light and with light they will be eaten if you fry borns remove them from the tank my guppy gave birth today but sadly i was late and was abble to save only 5 fries

We have followed all of these steps and our guppy fry are still being eaten. And we have spent tons on good thick plants

@@dannyg901 Keeping a breeder box that hangs on the side of the tank is an ok way to corral the babies in one place and have them protected. The best way though is probably to have another small tank that you transfer the babies to for them to grow up in peace. Once they're big enough you can transfer them back into the adult tank.

You can get pretty much any plant you want online. Type in the plant name, or "beginner aquarium plants" and pick from those. Many online shops sell them.
