I worked at both Brownells and Battenfield for over 20 years and was the new product manager involved in developing both sets. The Brownells set was all about top quality made in the USA guaranteed for life. Break a bit and it would be replaced for free, FOREVER, All those things make it a great set but it ain't cheap. The Wheeler set was all about decent quality at a great price. Made in China to keep the price at about half the price of the Brownells set. They were developed under different business models and you get what you pay for.. I've been retired for several years and don't know if anything has changed since we introduced the sets but I can tell you Brownells was made to be the very best there is. I was proud to work for them. Great people treating their customers right.

You can clean the stickiness off rubber using white vinegar, 5% or 10%. You might need to soak the handle in the vinegar for 5 or 10 minutes. I had some Oakley's where the rubber had become sticky, and the vinegar and paper towel got rid of the stickiness.

Glad to see you back on. I really enjoy your videos and so do a lot of other people. Did you know that you were the only one to show how to put back in the hand spring on a smith & wesson trigger. I was stunned when mine fell out. But I got it back in after watching your video. Your videos are top notch when it comes to information and know how. Keep up the good work my friend.

Sheridan? I just tracked you to the Denver area. lol I have a mod 28-2, my dads cop gun I want "tuned-up" and refinished. Hard to find a guy in the Seattle area. I have your services on my mind. As long as pops lives I come that direction every year, and have a boy in Denver now. Hope to this summer. I'd love to drop it off.

If I had to guess I'd say one of the manufacturers under the Stanley B&D umbrella for the manufacturer, the shape on these Acetate handles is a dead ringer for the Blackhawk / Stanley 100+ handles. Those are excellent quality screwdrivers, but I don't know if they manufacture bits. Pratt Read also manufacturers quality screwdrivers for a lot of other people including themselves and could also be responsible. It would be great to know who the OEM is in case there's a chance to get say the bits cheaper when you want to expand.

I woukdnt say they break easy. They are hardened which makes them brittle so they will break rather than to twist and mess up the screw head. When yhey bresk they leave a very sharp edge. That edge will cut a groove across a firearm before you know what happened...

The only thing a normal screwdriver is good for in gunsmithing is grinding them down for a real oddball fastener or sight post removal in a pinch. I would recommend the Lyman sets over the wheeler for quality in a beginner set or if they're just going to be used for maintenance. They're priced better than wheelers too. I love the brownells set but i have a set of grace tool screwdrivers too and there's just something about the feel of a wood handled hand crafted tool that's hard to beat

Are they no good budget sets with everything someone would need, I read that wheeler Lyman ect have horrible quality on zone reviews and are extremely overpriced today, wheeler full set 150£ that's sick.
