This dude was my guitar teacher in NJ circa early 90s. I knew him as Ron Thal. Would teach me 80s riffs and tell me story about the band I was into (like Twister Sister, etc.). Nice fella…….EDIT: my grammar sucks.

I miss the record stores man.
Just the fact alone that he mentioned the early Queensryche albums, tells me that we're kindred spirits that definitely grew up in the same time period. The EP, The Warning, and Rage for Order were shocking at the time they were released, very impactful.

Every metalhead from the 80's listened to those albums, dude. Or at least the first EP. After that I got into heavier stuff like Metallica and Slayer, so Queensryche didn't really do it for me anymore, especially since the two albums that followed the EP were more prog than heavy. I go back into them when Operation: Mindcrime came out, then back out of them when Empire came out.
I was at his the Hammerstein ballroom show when he made his debut back in May 2006. Amazing show(Probably top 2 for me of all time)....it was their first show in 3 years and it was in a venue that held like 3000 people.
I was on the sound crew for an *event he played as he was just so cool, and down to earth. Totally cool guy to chat with. (*Carl Palmer's Prog Rock Camp) Chris Pelletier in Philly

Bumblefoot is one of the most chill artists I’ve ever seen.
These interviews get me… some a these guys it’s like yea about what I thought , then u get a guy like this and you know without a doubt he wld be successful at whatever he chose to do… very intellectual guy and passionate
can't get enough of these 80's recycle bin interviews, AWESOME
Man I was PISSED When Axl replaced the OG’s but then heard Sons and WHAM!!! What a hard workin dude
Very talented and interesting dude. I like listening to what he has to say. He speaks a lot of truth
I loved Bumblefoot in GNR, he really suited ' Chinese Democracy'. He could play all the old songs, and really killed it on the 'Chinese Democracy', new tunes. He and DJ Ashba brough a fresh new style 🤩😍🥰😘🌹❤️🔥❤️🤟💋💯
Loved bumble cause he acts like a human . At AC show I called his name after a solo he looked I have him two thumbs up . Song was over he walked over to said of stage and have a nod and thank you . Guy really appreciated his fans true person .
I saw Bumblefoot live in Jakarta with Guns N' Roses back in 2012. Thank you, brother, great memories. I'll never forget it.
I've only seen this guy play on a Hello Kitty Ukulele type thing on Loudwire but he's an incredibly talented musician and singer.
And Ron is a beast on that double neck of his.
I love listening to Ron play (and talk!), he's awesome.
He is an amazing guitar player .
Ron Thal is one of the greatest guitar talents coming out of New York. He is very much on the same level as Steve Vai and Satch. Not quite the level of Al DiMeola (but then again who is).
He’lol never get credit but he’s one of the best guitarist of all time.

I have to say that after discovering Ron a few months ago l've been slowly finding out this to be true. He's a real guitar god. Listen to Planetary Lockdown. Making a shred guitar song that sounds fresh and interesting in 2020 takes some real skills.

I love how passionately he talks about music
This album is dope. \m/
"soundtrack to a part of your life"
GNR was badass with Bumblefoot, Fortus, and Ashba🤘🤘🤘
Great stories from a great musician.. I also love the music parts you throw in between the dialogues, Would love to know what songs they are!!!
Hey Ron. I like all your interviews but this one, especially! See ya soon (once we stop turning into zombies!)
Great interview
Truly inspiring...💚🎸
Amazing voice and storyteller with his head screwed on:)
Chinese Democracy is a great album, just not a great "Guns N Roses" album. Presenting it as an Axl solo album would have been more appropriate.

Your right Sean, I wish Axl would have just went solo and released amazing music with different artists performing with him like Slash has done. Instead of trying to keep alive a dead band. 20 years of music he has thats went undone and now his voice will never be able to do them justice if they were to be completed. GnR ❤️

Ron's solo in Signs of the Time is the most epic thing I've heard in a decade. The guy is a guitar genius.
This is an amazing interview and he is an amazing guy. But... the title of the videos specifically says Chinese democracy... this video is 10.21 min long the album is mentioned at 9.17🤔. It's an amazing video on it's own, no need for the click bate I think. But thanks very much for making and uploading it.

I love grunge, but I'll take "the party, the party" over grunge any day. Life is to short for all that unnecessary depression. The 80's were a happy time. The 90's so depressing.

Really? I fucking hated the 80's with all that gay happy pop and new wave and preppie and day glo fashions - my only salvation was thrash metal. And I love deep dark intense music and lyrics, so I didn't think that the 90's were depressing at all, but everything pretty much went downhill after Kurt died - the spirit of the 90's grunge and alternative movement died with him.
@gunnerseven7724

@@dowens3781 I'm with you on all that new wave bs etc. nothing is perfect. But the dark music from the 80s was also better. Slayer, kreator, obituary, megadeth, anthrax, metallica, danzig etc.
@dowens3781
2 жыл бұрын
@@gunnerseven7724 That's why I said that thrash metal was my salvation. And Danzig was more early 90's than 80's - his first solo album came out in 1988, but his peak of popularity was in 1991/92/93/94. Obituary were also more of a 90's band - their first album came out in 1989, which is when rock and metal really began to transition out of the style and vibe of the 80's. The end of one decade usually sets the tone for the following one.
