I’ve seen Night Ranger 6 times and every show is amazing. They are my favorite band to see live. Jack and company always look like they are having the best time putting on the show. One show we were from row and I was recording with my phone . Jack slid over , grabbed my phone and started recording the guys. Then he gave me back the phone with a big smile. I’ll never forget that moment.

That's my relationship with Jack and Night Ranger too. Used to go see them anywhere they played in the Bay Area back then whether it was a big show at the Petaluma Fairgrounds or a small one-off show at the Concert Barn in Antioch that I think only operated for a single Summer. Always a great show and good times. I always wished that he and Dave Meniketti from Y&T (another Homegrown Fave) would have made some music together--They have such similar personalities, someone should run a DNA test on the two of them to make sure they aren't related!

We met the guys and I will never forget talking to Kelly and Jeff about my fledgling music career. They sat there and encouraged me for like 20 minutes. Meant the world to me then and now. I was able to reach some minor regional success and still play to this day. The were down to earth great guys. In the ensuing years I opened for many big acts some whom I admired very much. Ironically 38 Special among them. They were also GREAT guys! Others not so much. Thank you Jack for having an impact on a teenage kid back in 84!

OMG...I went to Washington and was at a museum and had my friend take a picture of me at train tracks with the satin Night Ranger Jacket on... it's so Don't Tell Me You Love Me...but I just recently learned the story behind Goodbye...I want to say I'm so sorry for your loss as I lost most of my cousins...we were the 3rd generation of musicians from our family. My mom aunt aunt and uncle were in country music and we're set to play the festival with Hank Williams in the year he died in his car. So I've only ever understood men who were in bands ...I felt really safe in that world of Rock and Roll because of my situation...I was an only child so my cousins were very important to me so I get the Goodbye song when my cousins died...and surprisingly not from drugs it was a song that really comforted me.

I can't stop listening to his work, though I agree that Shaw Blades is probably his best work. Hallucination was a real slice of Americana with a Southern boy and a West Coast boy bringing their pasts together into one rollicking package of songs!

Well, I have a story to share with you. I just learned today that one of my very good friends that I grew up with passes away this summer. His junior and senior year (I'm 56, Dave would have been 59) his project car was a Chevelle. Bad ass muscle cars being built by the guys I grew up with. Ah, the 80's. Dave did all of the rebuild those two years. He raised up the ass end, of course, and he painted it a custom microflake gold. That Chevelle was beautiful! Night Ranger was his favorite rock band and in when his tags were due to be renewed in 1985, his last name started with an "S", he chose to put a personalized tag on that Chevelle. The Saline Co., KS tag read 7 WISHES. It's a great memory on a sad day. Thank you for that Jack and Night Ranger. ❤ ~ APRIL LIPKE

Absolutely fantastic! I was just rocking out to Night Ranger yesterday with one of my friends.. talking about when went to see them and Sammy in 1985 in Corpus Christi, Tx! The music of the 80’s.. Gen X inspired me as I began to write poetry.. at 13. Today, I just finished up my second script.. looking forward to a totally kick ass soundtrack to go along with it! Thank you so much for the inspiration! Writing is like breathing to me.. gonna do it till I take my last breath. 🤙🏽🤙🏽.. Still Rocking in America baby! 😉

I am a huge Night Ranger fan! So much so that I stole my brothers cassette copy of Dawn Patrol… 🤫 don’t tell! When the super group Damn Yankees came out, I couldn’t stop listening to it! Jack, Tommy, Ted and Michael rocked it! Though early NR has to be my absolute favorite!

“Whenever You”re Near” that Jack wrote for Cher could be easily music for a Damn Yankees record. What an infectious composition.

You tell 'em, Jack. One of the first concerts I ever saw was you guys opening for Sammy Hagar in Kansas City in 1983. I have been a fan for over 40 years.
