Guns for Hire- Afghanistan

GUNS FOR HIRE -- AFGHANISTAN is a highly topical 46 min. documentary about the secretive world of private military companies.
One of the highlights of GUNS FOR HIRE -- AFGHANISTAN is a unique interview in Kabul's Polecharki jail with the infamous American prisoner Jack Idema -- an ex Marine Special Forces soldier who turned rogue. Jack was hunting for Bin Ladin in the hope of winning the 2 million dollars U.S. award offered for Bin Laden's head by the Bush Administration. Eventually, Afghan authorities arrested Idema on charges of kidnapping people and interrogating them in a private prison.

It hard to believe that most of these guys are ex military, even harder to believe some are commandos. Watching these guys flagging each other with their rifles in the vehicles. One guy with his finger in the trigger guard while driving. Just seems like a lack of discipline. I shoot with ex military, you don’t step out of line like that with crappy muzzle control.

Few new Toyota’s there, lots of 25 yr old yota’s, hilux and land cruisers Most of the big money western contractors used new, beefed up suburbans or Yukon’s. Brits and aussies liked the Land Cruisers.

The most frequent number people say when they lie is 2. How many drinks did you have before you drove from the bar? 2 How many times did you see her? 2 I would not be surprised if it turned out that he lied about these firefights. The reason people often say 2 is that 1 is to suspicious and seems like the obvious lie. While 2 "seems" more honest because they are admitting more guilty action than 1. 3 or more is too much and would get you to much attention. Two is the number of lies.

The invasion of Iraq started in 2003, 150 000 US troops, or more I think. Then by 2007 half of the US forces in Iraq were mercenaries doing the dirty job of the government and committing war crimes. The thing is, those mercenaries who committed war crimes did not face any charges because international law doesn't apply to them like it applies to normal soldiers

The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. Also, you must confess with your mouth, that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised, him from the dead.

Could've been a good doc if they had only done their research on Idema - his military background was not Special Forces; he was in the supply section for the Special Forces. He owned a paint-gun business, Idema Combat, which he later promoted as a paramilitary organization. He was sued by an ex- for infecting her with HIV and he died in Mexico in 2012.

Jesus, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near these guys running those “drills” unless there was at least a vehicle between us. Their muzzle and trigger discipline is worse than my 7 year old nephew’s. They’re almost as likely to kill their own as they are anyone else. I know this was filmed back in ‘05 and there was a lot of people wanting to get in and get nice pay day and they’re in a hard and dangerous environment but that doesn’t excuse their shitty weapon discipline, especially in drills. If they’re in the heat of battle in a fire fight it’d be slightly understandable (though still not excusable), but they’re not.. I hope they all made it out okay, but I would like to know how things went for them.
