What does it really matter what you carry as long as: 1.) You can hit what your aiming at reliably. 2.) The gun functions with the ammunition you intend to use reliably. 3.) It meets any dumb restrictions that may be in place where you live. 4.) You can afford the ammunition to practice with it. 5.) The gun is mechanically sound and safe to shoot.

My first gun was a HiPoint JHp 45. It was big and heavy but fun to shoot. I now have RIA MAPP 22tcm9R and RIA 1911 10mm. also a SAR B6P 9mm. the 10mm was used and the others were around $400. I just picked up a CZ p290RS compact single stack 9mm for summer carry used for $425 out the door. if you look, you can find a good gun to fit you needs.

Ive finally decided that number 3 no longer applies. I was a gunsmith professionally for several years, had to go through all the ATF and State crap to be able to buy/sell firearms and ammo and store them on the premises. Virginia was the last straw of a hundred thousand straws. They have been infringing for over a hundred and thirty years. No more. All gun laws are illegal, every last one, and no American should obey even the least of them. If it exists in the world, in any military or government Armory ANYWHERE, then Americans are meant to OWN it, and be PROFICIENT in its USE. That is the LETTER and the SPIRIT of the RIGHT that 2A was written to PROTECT.

Our boss gave him a new hat that he wears, but that was a year ago, and he has not thrown away his old hat. His cheap tool box and buckets of junk, are located in a part of the shop we call "Area 51." He trims his greasy beard once a year before the Christmas party, and wears a musty duster that covers up his normal stench. I am going to write a new book called; "50 shades of smeagle's shirt."

I read an FBI statistic once that the average number of rounds fired in a self protection situation is 1.8 rounds. I say lets round that up to an even 2. So if you mag only holds 8 rounds, that's still 4 times more rounds than you probably need. A common gripe about the Hi Point C9 is that the standard mags only hold 8 rounds. BTW - Hi Point also makes 10 rounds mags for it.

I could be wrong, but usually those guns used in a shooting (justified or not) usually don't seem to ever make it back to their owners ever again. At least from most of the anecdotal reports of commenters who were involved in citizen shootings I've read online that's the case. I assume if you have really good legal representation you may get it back at some point, but like you said it could take years or more if it even does work out at all.

@@100GTAGUY This exactly. I have friend that used to work for Uber. He was involved in a self defense shooting. He was deemed clear by the police. Because of the whole evidence thing, he lost his Glock 43 which was used in the shooting and he also lost his Glock 17 gen 4 which was also locked in the trunk of his vehicle. That gun was never used in shooting. So 2 guns lost due to police evidence. 3 years later he still hasn't gotten them back. This is why I will always buy a used, and a cheap gun for concealed carry. I have expensive firearms, but I keep those strictly for the range.

I love revolvers and find that a lot of people on the internet get bent out of shape if you carry one. I get why it may not be for others but for me 5-6 rounds is great. I carry with ease and feel like I can run the gun with very little issue. I’ve practiced reloads and have gotten good at strips and speed loaders. Some get caught up with the idea of capacity as opposed to being able to carry all day every day.

Accuracy difference was night and day. The red dot was repeatedly dropping bullets in the same hole. Iron sights just wouldn't do that.

I stepped into my LCP and overtime upgraded it with innovative arms sights, sweet pea trigger, hogue grip and laser. Now I can actually shoot as well with it at 7 yards, as I can with my full size Beretta. The investment was totally worth it. Now with better finances, I was now able to step into the sig p365. I don't think I would have been as comfortable with it as I am, without the time training with the LCP. Thank you again!
