    Good moves, but it doesn't seem to take into account the fact that the person with the gun probably won't stand idly by while you disarm him.

    SPinosaur19 no, because those are awful ways to disarm guns. Those are just fancy moves that look cool. First off, nobody would be that calm with a gun to there head. Second, you don't know if the guy is on drugs or if he is crazy or what. He could pull the trigger if you flinch

    I'm still wondering what happens when your opponent isn't dumb enough to stick the firearm right in your face, but instead uses it properly from a distance, which is what firearms were made for.

    I have long studied different Karate styles, mostly Isshinryu and now Shorinryu. Don't forget, most of Krav Maga's grappling techniques are derived from Japanese Jiu Jitsu, and most Karate styles have the exact same grappling techniques (depending on the dojo).

    You can learn all the gun disarms possible but until someone actually puts a gun to your body or head it's a completely different story. It may work in a class room , because you know the gun is a fake one and not loaded, but on the street where you know the gun is most likely real and loaded you are put in a stressful situation and you will most likely freeze. If you don't freeze and use your disarming techniques you could possibly survive or accidentally screw up because you have never had to use it in a real situation and could end up dead. Using something in class and something under stress is different, however it is always nice to learn something new or to add to what you already know.

    the best self defense is to stay out of suspicious places and out of trouble. Once faced to gun to the head, of course this is only choice left, although there's no criminal would come so close to attach the gun barrel to the head

    There's also a grab technique where you push the slide back, disabling the weapon. Nice set of tactics, but would like to see them done with a paintball to check/verify/practice making the move without getting shot. JMHO

    important tips I learnt from martial art that applies to a lot of things. 1:neutralise immediate threat I.e. get the barrel of the gun pointing away from you. 2: quick strikes to eyes. remember a lot of people holding the guns may be under influence of drug and I've seen first hand that a kick to the balls and a straight kick to the ribs doesn't ground a guy on drugs. striking the eyes causes disorientation and if you hit them hard enough in the face will cause eyes to water (blurring vision) and may give you a chance to get the gun fully out of harm's way. but it's important to remember to concentrate on the gun first.

    good point about going for the eyes DONT EVER punch someone in the throat esp the adams apple... that could really hurt them... and its unfair fighting better to focas on the eyes also... stay away from the tip of the nose ... and never hit the tip of the nose in an upward direction ....you could really hurt someone like that ... and agian its not a fair fight and another point... never grab them by the shirt collar and swing away... doing this could make you want to attend a hockey game...yes hockey the girls version of badmittion then next thing you know your watching old vcr reruns of old homo erotic movies like road house staring patrick swayse and then its just a short drive to sucking a catholic prist dick during confession so please... dont grab any jersy dont swing at there nose and definatly dont punch there throat.... its just leads to dick sucking

    I mean how I see it, its good to know this but you dont do this second some guy aims at you, but if you think he is going to do something to you, or someone else, and gets close enough to you for you to grab his gun, it might be necessary. But your number one option you should always do, is do as he says, but if that doesnt work you may have to do this.

    Fpo Oat the slide has to go fully to the rear and eject the spent casing before a new round is able to be loaded. so by grabbing the slide firmly it will keep the spent casing inside the chamber . basically or simply put. the emty shell never comes out after the first discharge . heck it isn't even letting the slide back far enough to let the trigger reset let alone ejecting that spent casing and loading a new round lol

    Same principle. Redirect the gun with your hands and move your head or body out of the line of fire at the same time. After that, (while still controlling the firearm) kick to the groin multiple times as needed or whatever else to incapacitate the gunman. That'll work 9/10 times honestly.

    These disarms are assuming the shooter isnt actually going to shoot you, either because he lost his nerve or wants something from you. That means that the gun isnt actually a weapon more so then a threat to get you afraid enough to comply. This could also work if you use a disarm RIGHT when he raises the gun to fire.

  • @Murdokk00
    @Murdokk0010 жыл бұрын

    Failure to feed isn't necessarily a jam. If the round isn't chambered there is no jam. The purpose of that isn't to jam the gun, its to restrict a fresh round from being chambered. Not allowing the casing to eject is just not allowing the next round to feed properly.

    The point is to show that you can grab an automatic and have it fired while you are holding it without injuring yourself. And yes it does stop the weapon from loading a new round. But it does not stop the firearm from functioning. Pull away, rack the slide and the weapon is back in service.

    All rooted firmly in the belief that the person doing the disarming knows far more about martial arts than the attacker knows about the effective range of a pistol. Anyone can look like a hero screwing around with a willing subject and an empty gun.

  • @saamagmuaythai

    @saamagmuaythai

    Coming from curious...what would you suggest a person do to prepare for a close range gun assault? Use a real gun for training? After all you don't feel training with an empty gun is appropriate. Or better yet, just not train at all because you don't feel that someone will ever be attacked close up like that with a "smart" criminal. The "smart" ones will hold you up from 20 feet away. Yep. So training to escape or disarm an attacker is simply futile and we should all just lay down and die.

  • @Malt454

    @Malt454

    saamagmuaythai My point is that what you can do training against a gun you know is empty and an attacker that you know means you no harm is all interesting, good exercise, a nice parlor trick, and sells a lot defense course lessons, but it's not the real thing and I'd be interested to know the ratio of people who have used this successfuly for real to those who have not been so lucky, including the people who teach it.

    saamagmuaythai To question techniques which ask you to put your life on the line against a gun if the people teaching those techniques have not done so. I think it is a real question as to whether these techniques prevent people from being shot vs. possibly causing them to be shot, either intentionally or by accident, by those who don't necessarily otherwise have plans to execute them.

    When you grab the gun usually the attacker fires so it is important that you take your head off the bullet path, after that the gun is useless because when you hold the barrel you lock the capsule of the first bullet fired inside the gun so it is impossible for the other bullets to come up from the clip

    Good stuff. Personally, I prefer to get on the outside of people for knife and gun disarming techniques, simply because the attacker must now reach across his/her body to grab me with the other hand. It limits what the attacker can do to stop me from taking that weapon away. But martial arts is about choosing which techniques you prefer. There are plenty of other good ways of doing the same thing :).

    Except no. He moved his body out of the line of fire and held on to the slide. The guy shoots, but misses and the gun is likely to jam as the casing from that shot would still be in the chamber. If his grip is loose and it doesn't jam, his body is still out of the line of fire. He then moves forward, making it harder for the man with the gun to rake it out of the disarm.

    I know they said use common sense, but one thing that needs to be specified is never try this if the shooter is right on you with his intent completely on you. Do something to get him to partially relax and drop his guard some before even thinking about attempting something like these disarms.

    +Victor Vogel simply act defenseless and like a coward, then when he get close to you, you can disarm him. or just knock him out

    Most of these will get you killed. Always make sure your movements are as minimal as fast as possible when disarming the gun.

    I have taken three different martial arts disciplines, gotten relatively high in each of them, and yet they all failed to teach me this stuff. I was flat out refused when I asked. The fuck? Where can I learn this.

    Anyone know of any videos where it show a defence form for you to take if someone tries to steal your weapon from you while opencarrying? such as if your shopping and a guy reaches for your weapon from behind, so you can learn to defend yourself from it, etc.

    Easiest way to deter people from taking your open carry weapon is to carry concealed.

    That's contradictory. The easiest way to prevent you from being disarmed while open carrying is to maintain a constant state of situational awareness. This is something everyone carrying should be able to do. If you can't, don't carry. You just create a liability for your own, and everyone else's safety.

    well if your worried about people taking your firearm from behind, there is no real defense to that, its not hard to pull a weapon from a holster, the easiest way to not have someone do that is for them to not know its there, situational awareness is important but when your open carrying your a target, when your concealed you just look like average joe.

    Personally, I'm more comfortable OC. That's not to say I don't CC, but it isn't often. With a level III retention holster, nobody but you and someone who is very well trained is going to get your weapon. That list is reduced to you if you maintain situational awareness. If you prefer CC, go for it, more power to you. Do what makes you comfortable, with whatever gun, in whatever caliber, in whatever holster, you're most comfortable carrying in. The weapon is useless if you are scared to use it or are not comfortable with it's carriage. Pick a way that works for you and train drawing, clearing malfunctions, retention drills...common sense.

    One way you can tell someone has ZERO tactical training: they try to use the attacker’s handgun against them. You don’t know a thing about it - is it loaded? Does it work? (Crime stats show that 60% of the time the answer is no). I would never want to point a weapon at someone I did not know the condition of. And fun fact: in many states, criminals intentionally keep the gun unloaded to receive lesser charges if caught. Folks, don’t be a victim. Be smart and stay safe.
