🤣 he's like.... "i'm honored to be known as legendary among the 26 known 8 string guitarists. thanks."
Tosins eye game is also an addition to why I rate him in my top 3 guitarists of all time. Almost a wizard with his presence.

MrKyletheawesome I mean... we can hear the comment in its total accuracy or see it as a dirty innuendo. That being said right after I made that statement I saw the innuendo and did my best to keep my composure. Based on all the comments from this specific verbiage, it seems as though I’m not that dirty of a person if everybody else’s mind went there too 🥴🙃🤷🏻♀️

Tosin is a great inspiration. I don't see myself buying an 8 string guitar, but the way he approaches music is what i look up to the most.
I hope there will be an AAL song based on this interview called Double Entendre with a lot of thumping in it.

She’s a great interviewer. She feels like a natural at what she does. Kept the conversation flowing, no awkward pauses, just an all around great interview. If some of the dudes in the comments can get past her boobs and acknowledge the fact that she gave one of the best interviews he’s had yet.

Yes - I have eyed used TAM100 for a while now. I'm not ready for 8 yet; I'm still transitioning to 7 and I haven't quite broken/unlearned my rigid 6-string indexing muscle memory - I am training myself to fret/locate notes independently of neck dimensions/surfaces and number of strings so that I can more quickly adjust between the variants and reduce effort/increase economy. Great interview Aly! Thanks!
Tosin is such an amazing guitarist and is a huge inspiration.
Mestis / Javier's stuff is so musical, it's so good
Hats off to this amazing interview. Definitely one of the best and casual I've seen with Tosin and interesting questions that cater both to beginner and advanced players. Can't believe you don't have more subs but you earned mine 👌🔥
That was a great interview. Thank you very much. I have such mad respect for Abasi, even though it's not my kind of music, but his skills are undeniably insane.
This man is such a master of his instrument. I can’t express my amazement with his skill. Love how he says that he simply plays his guitar as a "stringed instrument" rather than a "guitar". First time I heard Animals as Leaders, that was exactly my thought. Btw: I dig the lighting of the scene.
Great interview with insightful questions! 😉👍

Very good questions. I hope there will be more interviews.
The way he strokes that guitar is legendary.

@@XiyuYang Well I did say ' arguably '. But a good pointer is when all other guitar virtuosi tend to concur on that statement. Why did people view Hendrix as the best of his time ? Or Jaco Pastorius as the best ( self-proclaimed ) best Bassist in the world in his time? It's a number of things. Not everything is subjective - but making a case would be pointless and uninteresting. Anyway, great video

budget friendly abasi model? yes please! that would be epic!
I really like this guy. I started listening to his old band Reflux when they were active, and had a chance to meet him years later when Animals as Leaders played at the House of Blues in Hollywood (mind blowing show by the way). As they were packing their stuff into their carrier sometime after the show had ended, a couple of my friends and I were able to walk up to him and simply introduce ourselves and shake his hand, while showing appreciation for his talent and performance. He was very welcoming, and he even took time to introduce someone he was with.. a female who I never found out her relations with him. Very pretty and exotic female of African descent. Super humble guy, good eye contact, ears were receptive and he really connected with us, even though our time was brief. A very inspiring guy.

The interviewer is great. I think Tosin is smilinv cause he can sense how all his guy homies are probably going to dog him for this interview. Well played guitar world.
Tosin's thumb technique always reminds me of Shane Gibson's (RIP) "Glitch Picking" technique. Awesome guitarist, and one of the first "KZread" guitarists who really caught my ear.

Oh Tosin, The first time I looked into your eyes I cried Do you remember the first time...
This guy is a guitar nerd in the best sense! Also, Al Di Meola is from NJ, not Spain!
Would have loved to have seen Reflux. The few live clips I've found are crazy killer; tight af and chest crushing. But with AaL we get to chuck the bass entirely - opened up a whole new realm of compositional tools in my brain, thanks for that...

SomaSong I’m so sorry, I plan on being more aware in the future. Didn’t really think much of it when I wore it. Surely don’t want to take away from the interviews or my subjects. Regarding the Washingtonian, yes this is true that people from the state are referred to as such. At the same time growing up in the Washington D.C Metro area, my entire life watching the news you here local residents referred to as Virginians, Marylanders and people from DC referred to as Washingtonians. So I apologize if this caused any confusion, I simply made a reference that has always been used in our area.
