get a semi-hollow. the guitar he's using in this video is a telecaster thinline (there are squier versions too). Gibson/Epiphone es or ibanzes as series are good options too

The overwhelming amount of people hitting their acoustic guitar as if it was a drum, while certainly not new, has become very cringe worthy. That's the sound I could do without. Also, tapping chords on the bass isn't for everybody.

I remember a time before ichika videos were all titled "when you ____" or "when the _____", meaningless guitar video titles are the most common now

Probably the reason is due to the emphasys on high frequencies, which make difficult to mix with a vocal, but are great for the clarity of the solo performance (it's my idea idk if it's the real reason)
