"He's preaching. He's preaching he's preaching he's preaching. There's so much hope in here, and so much misery. It's the battle of dark vs light, and it's reflected in piece of this song." That is the perfect description of Manchester Orchestra's entire discography.

Here's hoping you find out it's a concept album and the entire thing is a story. This song is the narrative of the man who's raising his brother's baby girl. His brother took his life out of depression and alcoholism, passed on to them by their father. He's talking about how much the little girl has changed his life and helped him get out of the cycle his family was in. The whole album is about the downfall of his brother though and its the single most influential piece of art in my life.

I found Manchester about a year after their first album release. To watch the journey of these guys from that first, absolute banger, of an album, through to million masks has been one of the highlights of my life. Their music and lyrics reach right down through you and find your soul, no matter how dark and dank the place it’s in may be. And with the pain of despair they help you find hope. What a gift this band is to everyone who gets to hear them. And if Andy and the gang happens to see this, cope at the earl… genius, it was like a performance of the perfect blend of hope/cope. Thanks a ton.

These are the most amazing musicians in the last 20 years. I found them on limewire after hearing Carrabba from Dashboard Confessional mention them in an interview for music he was listening to. That was Wolves at Night and I have been floored and in love since. We just saw them in Atlanta for Stuffing and it was the most transcendent experience of my life. To say they give me the feels is a gross understatement. They ignite within you and fill you with emotion exploding in vicarious love and passion.

Such a powerful song in every way. Feels like it’s about that constant battle in our souls, between resistance of all that seems wrong and acceptance of what is reality.

I repeatedly listen to tracks that Palmisano suggests, due to his reaction videos. It is rare that I hear him reacting to great music that I already know. Kudos to him for knowing how great Manchester orchestra is.

Love these guys! This was the first song of theirs that I came across and now I'm hooked! Michael - Have you ever explored any Thrice? Would absolutely LOVE to see you break down one of their songs. They've evolved a ton from their early days, but their new stuff is amazing as well. "Hurricane" would be my top choice, "Words in the Water" would be second, and I could go on, but I'll leave it there! (side note: hard to find quality live versions of most of their stuff)
