    The man is using a 1936 Walter with no rod. Tuned down 2. There’s no way to recreate this sound. Besides the fact that his influences are people we don’t know. He was a city boy that won’t do interviews because he’s working the ranch. Talk about an inspiration for a California boy that doesn’t belong here.

They (he preformed with a group at our concert) sent out security after to come get us and brought all of us backstage to meet them, talked with the kids & took photos, signed some merch and even gifted them some merch too. He & all of them that night were beyond kind and amazing! It meant the world to us, Colter Wall and The Dead South *they're from the same area in Canada, who we also met & they even called our kids to lift their spirits when theyve been in the hospital due to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome* are both amazing musicians and amazing people!

I love this reaction video because this guy who obvious does actually understand something about music is having essentially the same experience I had when I watched this Colter Wall video the first time. Basically, whatever this guy is doing, it’s magic.

    Colter plays alot of his songs with his guitar tuned a full step down with a capo on the second fret.(might not be in this song) this essentially is standard tuning. why does he do this?? my guess it that it allows standard tuning but allows it buzz and slap a little. Also, i know hes not a very big guy, ive seen him live, i think it allows him to play easier with smaller hands. just my guess

  • @jakeruiz7421

    @jakeruiz7421

    Full step down would be capo four. Which is what this song is. Kate Mccanon is half step down capo’ed 2nd fret for standard tuning. And yes...the loose tension allows the rattle and buzz giving it the old school vibe.

Colter wall is original in a very talented artist.Luke Combs has it right when he sings we don't need no more pretty boys singing everybody else's song and pretending to be country. Country music is not country music today! Colter wall is a modern-day Waylon Jennings! Check out his song Kate McCannon!
