MadGamer I used to hold a record on this game. Don't know if it's still an active record but I had the record for highest score on "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" while using a standard PlayStation controller, not the guitar controller. Only had a 94% but best at the time.

Batiehope Phillips No. you get death by buying him in the in-game store after completing enough shows. You get Lou the Devil after beating him and then buying him in the in-game store. No difficulty required for either of them. Difficulty unlocks are specialized guitars you can unlock at the end of each difficulty Campaign. Fully completing Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert gives you 4 different guitars with different interests looks. If I remember correctly either Medium or Hard gives you a tiger guitar.

That part can’t be played without being Death Drained unless you beat him.

The fact that the first power up you get vs Lou was a whammy is pure luck. I always get the dumb doble notes.

the weird thing about double notes on that first attack is that for some reason Lou still misses a few, even though you'd need to hold the same extra note and strum on the same speed

For those that are calling it a bot. The native bot in Guitar Hero 3 doesn't have the ability to use star power. When battling, the attacks are triggered via star power. If this was a bot it'd always lose because it wouldn't have the ability to trigger attacks and would die out when the boss uses the attack that drains the rock meter.

HAX!" - Boss AI *rage quits and crashes the game* I admit it's very clever that they used "Devil Went Down To Georgia" for the final battle against... well, the devil. I'm mostly a Rock Band player (Harmonix FTW), but I love the battle mode in the later Guitar Hero games.

speaking about your second paragraph, i do agree that the song is fitting, even though Charlie Daniels took objection to how it was portrayed in the game. i just think Steve Ouimette could've altered the lyrics along the lines of the Toy Dolls version, "The Devil Went Down to Scunthorpe", which changes the fiddle battle to a guitar battle proper. and btw, i am more fond of RB too, but i still like this game.

I loved these. I use to always not use my power ups just to see how far I got. Usually it just ends up with the boss having seemingly endless notes til they just drain you.

I miss this game so much. I gave up after warriors of rock. I was playing insanely fast expert bass at this point. Had a legit expert band of friends that were active before I quit entirely. Was a blast having every person playing their part and hitting high scores.

This brought back so many memories. From getting a pre-owned GH3 and playing with a controller to using the GH WT guitar to go back and play GH3. Progressing from the big hurtle of Medium to Hard and the even bigger hurtle of hard to expert. I almost managed to beat expert, but Raining Blood was too much for me while I scraped pass on One, Number of the Beast and Cliffs of Dover. So much nostalgia lol
