Agreed, and honestly, I think people are too quick to shit on it. While it’s obviously not a direct replacement for a real guitar, I absolutely believe it helps with dexterity, getting a feel for how to hold a guitar and getting your hands moving, it absolutely translates to guitar. Obviously you’re not going to be able to pick up a guitar and play the same songs you just played on guitar hero, BUT.. i believe that it will absolutely make it easier to learn. edit; not to mention timing and rhythm practice..

Same, except it was drums for me. With a family, I can't really play them anymore, but I have recently picked up a guitar in part of my free time.

I miss this game SO MUCH. this is how I discovered megadeth and a lot of other great rock and metal bands.

I played with a DualShock controller as a child and remember this song being impossible that I quit.I didn’t know about the greatness of a song that was Free Bird.

Min Chan Mon Traditionally solo 4b is considered to be the hardest to FC. Interesting that you found it differently (5, 7, and especially 9 are, I’m guessing the most frequent “choke” points, although it’s not really a choke since they’re all difficult in and of themselves).

@@TheBreadSliceMaster I stopped playing the newer games after GH3, so I can't speak to the newer songs, but you must be a good strummer then, if 5 and 9 are easier for you than 7. They're all probably equally tough to me, and honestly, I can probably hit more of 5 and 9 than 7, too, but I'm also probably a better strummer than fretter. 4B is rough, though, any way you look at it. The GH2 engine in itself is pretty strict.

@@chambeet Strumming can be easy to control if you try to focus on just the speed of reaching every downstrum. Instead of focusing on the speed of every up and down strum, focus on when you reach your downstrum again. Fury of the Storm in GH6 has a good section to learn to control that. It's all about breaking down the strumming to a easier way to track how you're doing it. And that speed is literally no challenge whatsoever IMO. Also I am aware of the GH2 engine being way too strict with huge latency and very low hitboxes, but I've lived a luxury life of Clone Hero for a while now so I can't speak for GH2.

Hangar 18 is definitely harder to fc than Freebird. Freebird is more tedious but the solo patterns is easier to follow than Hangar 18.

The most amazing part of this is the dude that could record all of these solos. The rest of the band is also spot on, where did they find these guys?!

When I was little I had my brothers iPod (he didn't use it anymore) and at some point my dad put hangar 18 on it and the album art was the guitar hero II cover art. Ever since Hangar 18 has been one of my favorite songs.

This is the 1st career song in the series that i couldn't beat. My endurance is definitely good enough where i can do free bird because the solo's are not as crazy as this song and there are enough breaks that allow you to get star power.

Neither. It’s a cover by WaveGroup. At the time before Guitar Hero World Tour, WaveGroup covered most of the setlists with a few exceptions of them being the original studio versions.

So I decided to ask the FC guitar god himself what his experience was before I put myself through unecessary hell. guitarheroROXS the even more frustrating thing about the Harmonix engine is that you experience a glitch where you don’t hit the exact same HOPO consistently every time you restart the song. For instance, when I was grinding for an FC on Less Talk More Rokk, it consistently was not letting me hit the yellow HOPO. When you quit to the main menu or whatever, the glitch stops. Howbeit.... I don’t know whether or not that glitch is playing a factor of why I am still stuck on Round And Round on ‘80s(because sometimes I perfectly hit the super tight zigzag on Guitar Solo 1A and sometimes I don’t)
