I used to have lots of Guinea pigs at one point. We would open the hutch door every morning so they had free roam of the garden. We had a small heard and they never ran off. In an evening they would take themselves back to bed and I would go out and just shut the door for them. I loved the sounds they made! So cute!

I am watching this with me and Poofles (the Guinea pig) and we're eating veggies. It's our special bonding time!!!

Two of my guinea pigs when I give them a carrot love to eat that in the privacy of their little hidey or hut. But anything else they eat in the open. I think it's funny that they feel they need some private time to enjoy the carrot only. hehe.

What is it about guinea pigs where they're the apparently the most tested on? I don't doubt they can find their ways out of mazes but I do wonder what goes on in their rodent brains and genetics of theirs.

The one with the cat and the guinea pig kinda scares me.... you can tell from the little guinea's body language that they are clearly unpleased and may even be frightened by the cat. 😬

Lola Bint It's not that I'm worried about. I know the cat doesn't feel provoked to do anything bad to the GP, it was just the language that the GP was giving me. Trust me, I owned a bunch of guinea pigs and know their body language by now. The cat may enjoy it, but the GP looked like it was getting distressed. In that situation, it would be best to remove the guinea pig since stress can be very bad for the little guys.

DaKKerD if they don't love you, they aren't guinea pigs. Guinea pigs are very social animals, and LOVE attention. I don't see why they wouldn't love you.

My Melody & Kuromi Yes, guinea pigs are very fragile. They have a natural curve to their spine, so putting them on their back puts pressure on their spine. Besides that, guinea pigs are prey animals and lying on their back is a very vulnerable position. Putting them into that position forcefully can be stressful. It's also just not normal for a guinea pig to lie on its back. If it does happen, it probably means that it has a balance issue or something else is wrong.

Some Guinea Pigs simply enjoy being on their backs when they're comfortable and feeling safe.

They r so adorable and seem so sweet natured!

cutest things ever! they fill my heart with joy watching this :)

This reminds me of my guinea pig. He died because my mom left him out side over night will I was at a sleep over at my cousin. She forgot that she left him out there.

Reminds me of my guinea pig. She was extremely timid, so we called her Miss Skitty. I remember we used to feed her celery often and gave her fruit bars as treats.
