I lost my guinea pig last year around this time. I got him when he was 3 months old and he had just turned 7 years old. He was a large boar. Bigger than Sylvester. He had stared to get lethargic and didn't really want to eat. I knew he was dying. Three days before he passed away he was popcorning. I couldn't believe it! After he passed I truly believe he was letting me know he had enjoyed his time with me and not to be sad. 😘

I love it when piggies are sleeping and then suddenly popcorn and it wakes them up. Will never stop being cute ❤️

This reminds me of my Guinea pigs. I've had 4 in my lifetime, 2 of them I rescued after finding that someone in my neighbourhood had left them outside in a dirty hutch with no food or water in -5°c temperatures. They were way too small for their age and frozen from the cold and fear. I took them in, fattened them up and before you knew it, they were popcorning all over the place and squealing happily! It was a joy to see them recover from being neglected! My very motherly dog bonded with them very well and looked after them as if they were her own puppies and looked at me with actual horror when I had to give them up as I'd be moving and wouldn't be able to take care of them in my new apartment and my family weren't particularly interested in keeping them. They loved them and were really happy to let them stay with us instead of outside in the cold, but wouldn't have the time or money to look after them with me gone. I raised these rescue piggies for about 2 years before moving and giving them to my young cousins who took very good care of them as their first pets, just like I'd done with my first 2 piggies who passed away in 2015. They really are wonderful little critters! 🥰🥰
