I have a custom built cage similet to candc but it just fits out space and it's quite big one and we use puppy pads ( I know there is guinea pig ones bit more money ) that I have 3 sets worth of cage so can swop wen some get more wet and change every 4-5 days fully and the pads are reusable sometimes coz of their denting there is few marks that will not come of but generally use some viniger in washing machine with a big zip bag to keep it all in to not contaminate machine and a pull out over bath hanging string thing thing for some washing that we use just for their stuff as no tumble dryer and out stuff on the fold out things and any leftover hay we put guard in plug and then when fully dry just sweep up

Also wooden hids don't work for us as it gets too wet and smelly at the bottom and as we are in a flat and it gets hot so flies come in so trying to put covers mesh on windows too so just have a level and they hide under it

Hello!Very cool video.😄I really like how you arranged the cage.I have learned a lot about Guinea pigs from this channel!🤗 I have a question:If I cut the cardboard at home, will it work as bedding for the Guinea pigs? Won't the cardboard soften quickly from pee?And I have one more guestion:Approximately how many days will the cardboard bedding last in a Midwest Cage?(I have 2 Guinea pigs💓) Thank You Very much😘😘😘😘

I believe the cardboard is somehow treated to make it a little softer so simply cutting up cardboard at home wouldn't be comfortable for them or as absorbent. I would say that in a Midwest, the shredded card bedding would last around 4 days. You'll need to spot clean daily though and it might be that it only lasts for 3 days as the Midwest is quite a small cage (the minimum size for 2 guinea pigs).

Lovely video! Idk why but I love watching people clean there cage 😂. Also I dont have guinea pigs, but planning on getting them. So I would clean Wednesday and Saturday. Also planning on using fleece. But I recommend maybe getting 2 water bottles becouse you have 6 piggies. They could have a hard time sharing.

Thank you Beatrise. Fleece is a lovely bedding for guinea pigs and many people use this. We have lots of info on our website about fleece liners, and how to keep them clean and fresh - here's a link www.guineapiggles.co.uk/fleece-bedding/. I was thinking of having a second water bottle on the side of the cage but they don't mind sharing and it's a big 500ml one :)

Hello! I was wondering where you buy your shredded cardboard from. I live in the US but I didn't even know this was a bedding option is it cheaper than Aspen? Thank you so much. I Love your videos and those cute piggies!😃

Hi Michelle, glad you love the videos :) We get the shredded cardboard from a local company. Unfortunately they don't ship to the US. It isn't cheap so it may not be cheaper than aspen. I would say it costs us around £70 a month for our 5 piggies.

Hello, I've been cleaning my 2 guinea pigs C&C cage with vinager since only one week because one of my girls is sick, a pneumonia due to a cleaning product. I feel so guilty not using vinager before! Kisses from Normandy 🐹🐹

It's lovely to hear from someone in France, it's a beautiful place :) It's good that you've changed to a more natural product. Don't feel guilty - the most important thing is that when you realised you were doing the wrong thing you changed.

Sorry to hear that your guinea pig died this year. It does depend on the size of the cage and the type of bedding you use as to how often they need changing.

Aww lovely to see baileys still doing well. Winston is so handsome 😍. I have been using fleece made with zorb these days, I change the bottom fleece once a week and change the pee pads daily. Shredded cardboard, never knew you could get that.

Baileys is much better now. Although she does have arthritis she's moving around much more and is her usual happy self again. I'd never considered the shredded card until the rescue recommended it to me. I always think it's good to see what rescue centres do as they have so much knowledge from having taken care of so many guinea pigs :) Fleece is great too - we used to use that but I just struggled with all the washing and drying, especially in the winter.

Guinea pigs can be very skittish and if you're not used to picking them up it can be quite a challenge. Take a look at this video which shows some ways of catching and picking up your guinea pigs kzread.info/dash/bejne/lZ2M15SAZNazoNI.html
