Guided Meditation - Unknowing Meditation

Adyashanti guides us into the experience of a deeper meditative state by going beyond our ideas of what we think meditation is supposed to be. From August 2021 “Silent Retreat Vol. 80 ~ Meditations”: bit.ly/3qRKn0Y

What a gem… not to know, just to assume the silence, the quietude, which effortlessly holds everything, and then to lean into that. Thank you, Adya!

After trying this quite a few times - it’s true! This meditation naturally ‘mediates’ even know there is no one trying to meditate anymore! Brilliant!

I had, before turning on this meditation, already said goodbye to this deep thought (belief) I carried and that controlled me this morning, so that I was so open to receive this gift. Words come up like how to have a beginner's mind always and the heart shining through. Thank you. :- )

This has been a really special meditation, though my thinking mind struggled against it for the first 18 minutes. I finally let go into childlike simplicity for the first time in perhaps 20 years, and just allowed the joy of being, crying and laughing. Thank you will all my heart

The more I become silent without knowing, the more "urgent" thoughts appear. An attempt by the system to remain in the familiar. It can get really loud...

We are not separate from where we are....objective reality always includes us ..you are breathing all the time...you are seeing where you are whether reality or dream state....you are always part of what is around you....you might think you are separate maybe in some small way....but you are always part of the entire universe.... Being alive makes you part of it all!

So first, you must notice the “space” of awareness that encompasses both “internal” and external objects. Then, allow these objects to come and go , including thoughts . Then meditation occurs by itself, without any conceptual intention to meditate

Perhaps one can only truly meditate without forcing anything on the mind? What you suggest seems like a form of practice for focusing or concentration.

  • @imaghost2961

Nope this is impossible to focus on.. frick.. I don’t get why guided meditation has the opposite effect on me. They only seem to irritate and anger me.

I get this sometimes even after years of meditation. minds get very frustrated when they encounter something they can’t control or ‘do’ - I think overtime they just learn to relax and surrender - when they’re ready
