Adyashanti

Adyashanti (“primordial peace”) is an American-born spiritual teacher. He has taught throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. He is the author of 11 books. Born Stephen Gray in 1962, he became interested in enlightenment at the age of 19.

At 20, he began studying Zen Buddhism with Arvis Joen Justi, whose teacher was Taizan Maezumi Roshi. Adyashanti also attended retreats with Jakusho Kwong Roshi (a disciple of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi).

At 25, while meditating one day, Adyashanti felt what he has described as “an incredible onrush of energy.” This was his first awakening, followed by an inner voice that urged him to “Keep going.” At 31 Adyashanti had another profound awakening. Arvis Justi then asked him to start teaching.

In 2000, a US nonprofit, Open Gate Sangha, Inc., was established to make available the teachings of Adyashanti to all those who sincerely yearn for peace and freedom.

Adyashanti lives in the Eastern Sierras with his wife, Mukti, also a spiritual teacher.

It's edging, for an even greater release! 😆 Mucking about with the yuck, because you gotta roll in the muck to clean yourself up.

Love of the character/id in the story of separation and not wanting to abandon the characters son/life in the love'story' of existential abandonment/separation of Life Itself.💚

It depends who is asking the question isn’t it? From the person non-doin or inner silence may appear as waiting whereas it is satchidananda or the urge towards it. From the other side running in this rough and rowdyness certainly appears as waiting and distractedness while it seems perfectly in tune and meaningful to the person. Eventually I meet everyone far far beyond …on the other side 🙏

You know I've been asking this question my whole life and I've just realized that it's the reason why we can't find success

Yeah, its the final boss of fears, its crazy cause i can be sitting there in a very quiet home, with a beautiful family, then certain times during meditation it will show up, and im like ok im gonna try to continue forward but then the dread and feeling of slipping into death is to much i just get up and start watching tiktok or playing video games to entertain the mind, i do learn many lessons about hidden stuff every time i touch the gravity of zero, like certain ideas I thought were it dont really matter at that point, positive or negative. Hopefully i will be ready to fully go through in this life time.

It's beautiful. I get up and visualize only love for everyone and everything. On the street I smile and greet everyone. I am aware I create everything. It's so serene and loving. I didn't even choose this path, it happened... Thank you ❤

I get the part concerning your Buddhist identity. That’s good. Are you assuming though that this was his intention ? If not then the question is why was Buddha an asshole ?

Wow, thanks Adyashanti, this excerpt cuts right through to the instance or quantum of time called the *now*. Where it all begins; honesty, knowledge, wisdom and the mysterious journey which is life...

Honesty is key to cutting through self deception and finding Truth. It’s quite humbling and amazing once you start to realise that you’ve been kidding yourself for a lifetime.
