Jeff, your focus on what and who should be illuminated is a gift in itself. Thielemans, I swear, was as wonderful as a musician in his 80’s as he was in his teens. All my attempts at avoiding his playing, his instrument of choice and his style failed. He was just too good, too compelling, so I thankfully in time gave in and let his stuff touch my stuff. Has Bill Evans ever been at a loss of which chords to use, where, when, how long? Or has he ever missed point of a musical idea or been confused of which melody to play in any conceivable way with any group? The understanding of the musical language of both these players is nearly as complete and fluent as one can get and I for one have been daunted by their combined expertise. There are others who are on this level, but one would be hard pressed to find better. I’ve got to applaud your ears👏🏻👂🏻Jeff.

We could only afford the one rose to begin with, but I updated my KZread subscription, and we now have multiple Roses. DONE!! 😂
