By far the best guide video in quite a long time.

Even though I won't be using either of these methods because I don't trust myself in fixing my own Xbox, I found this video very useful in explaining what the problem really was. Far better than the other videos on KZread that don't resolve the problem.

I have been searching for MONTHS for a fix to my Xbox one. I kept having games crashing and I went through all the normal steps so I thought it must’ve been a hard rice issue and I contacted Microsoft and they didn’t help me with anything, they just said to reset it this finally fixed my xbox after not being able to enjoy video games thank you :)

This worked for me using the 2nd method so thank you for that. Only issue is it’s very difficult to find these parts. The office Xbox sata cable is sold out everywhere and from what I’ve seen so are the star tech round sata cables.

what u have to do is keep on hitting the keep games and apps one the do it like 4 times then when after the tv goes off then unplug ever like from your xbox then let it sit for like 3 to 4 hours then when ever u a ready go back on and try it if it goes back to it then delete everything then unplug it for like a day then if it turns on the next day it shou say updating but whenever u turn it off u gonna have to quit the game that you where on the unplug it again

Thank you for your Video - I was able to fix my Xbox One X with it. Since my HDD worked fine on my PC I assumed that it must be the SATA cable. I bought a 15 cm flat SATA cable, which is just the perfect length for this job. A round cable is definetly better, since the cable has to make a loop, but they are way more expensive. My flat cable was 2€ incl. shipping. For precise and safe cutting, I used a small saw, since chances to slip and cut yourself are smaller with it :)

@@coleerickson409 yeah it is ! It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Just be attentive to the order of all the screws. I didn't cut the hdd connection in half like he did and it still fit.

This video is fantastic, quick question. On option 2 you use a different sata cable, why's is the power cable extension required if you are separating the data port from it anyhow? It seems unnecessary, If you explained it I may have missed it. Thanks for your time.

Anybody having startup errors just forget everything you've ever read about diagnosing and repairing xbox console issues and try offline updating. Format a flash drive to ntfs and put osu1 on it and plug it into your console, turn it off and start it up on the troubleshooting screen and it should eventually start updating. Ive jumped through 1000 hoops trying to fix mine and this ended up working.

i have the same issue in the xbox one s , but the power cable and data cable are straight connected to the mothebored , do you think changine them would slove the problem?

Can you use the same cable from the xbox one into the xbox one x to replace that same cable?

Hi man, I really think it’s worth giving it a go because that’s pretty much the same problem I had. When I replaced the connector the Xbox just started working again and I haven’t had a problem since.

On my connector the data cable has 2 black spots on them, kind of looks like it's burnt.

Sounds like that could be the case. Which side appears to be burnt? If it’s the data side, you can bypass it in the same way shown in the video.

If that’s the cause then I’m surprised. There is a limit for how much space the Xbox OS will recognise but that doesn’t usually cause crashes. If you use a hard drive larger than 2TB it usually just means that the extra space is wasted as it won’t be used.

Good video, I have a query, my xbox one x console has an os 19041.7771 and no matter how much usb I have tried, it does not detect it. I followed the steps to the partitions but it does not detect the usb, what will it be? .I understand that the osu1 is not so up to date. Regards.

@Doo-Dahs I have very much the same problem. My TV won’t switch on but I can hear the hard drive spin up and try to access 3 times. Then it shuts off. Did you hear this from your hard drive as well?

what do I do if it is an E100 error. I was getting a problem with disc space saying I had 0 gigabytes and I searched it up and xbox website said to update the xbox because the xbox is not reading my hard drive so I did and halfway through the update I got and E100 error

I will definitely use the second method because not only the hem xbox cable is $45 and out of stock, this will five me the opportunity to upgrade to ssd as will be cause it's needed for faster boot time and smoother at the time.

Why did you replace the Sata connector

Mine just stays at 50 my Xbox is very very old it’s 6yrs old but now I get problems so everytime I disconnect from the electricity plug thing I get the green screen of death so I need to factory reset and it always work but now idk what happened that it’s just staying in 50 I tried everything in the factory tester options

I changed the hard drive and it still doesn’t work it says error and it updates but when is at 9 it drops and say error E

How much time do you have with that solution, has it failed you? Another question, the hard drive is no longer screwed to the base of the hard drive?

The console never gave me a problem after I did this and it’s been over a year. The hard drive is screwed the black base with the four screws.

They were available everywhere when I made this video but supply goes up and down all the time. You’re better off using the second method anyway because, as someone else commented, the ones you get online may not be 100% reliable either. The sellers probably stripped other used consoles for parts to sell.

What I did is just restarted and now it’s back to normal and still and always has worked for me

I buy an Ssd put it in try to update with usb but when i start it says there is an problem.. so error 101. I cant instal usb update..

all of the Xbox one hdd connected parts are out of stock and also I realised these glitch’s only happen when I unplug my Xbox instead of just pressing the power button. I would say this video was helpful but I just can’t find any parts so my Xbox will just say broken unless I get a new one.

Couldn't you just plug the cut wire directly into the hard drive without the extension cable?

Great video just had this happen to my xbox one S it started to lag badly. So I keep restarting it which brought me to Error Code 208 then as it was updating it got stuck at 50 percent and would not move so I turned it off and now I have a Error code E102 so I just purchased the new connector from your link and im gonna try to fix it since my xbox is out of warranty anyways

I d like to describe a serious problem which I had over six months now on a sealed box x box one… anyways whenever I am at menu!after 20 minutes the menu stuck and only the home menu button works All the icons turn to black .. also the same if I am in an app.. the Xbox works fine after 20 minutes or reset. I thought might be the disk .. so I changed to ssd then I thought might be the cable .. After your video.. I ll change the cable too… the last error was E105 exactly the same as yours .. the stuck and black icons thing do u think might be the cable ?

I got a new ssd and got the os1 downloaded on usb stick but i cant even use the usb stick when i do it says preparing and gives me an system error again. I tried downloading everything on my pc to the ssd and putting it into my xbox one x but still getting the errors:(

Be sure that ur usb stick is formatted from fat32(or something like that), into NTFS. This is the only way ur xbox knows what's being inserted

Got an ssd in but I lost the one x boot and logo animation 😪 console works but its not the same

I used my external drive for a few weeks since I couldn’t download games onto the actual Xbox internal drive but eventually the error code stopped me being able to get into the Xbox so I had to change it eventually anyway, but an external drive is a short solution

If you still have the old connector, try this: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gqShqbSAecusk9Y.html You’ll still need a SATA cable but they’re easy to find on Amazon. You may already have one spare if you have a PC.

It won’t. After you finish fixing the problem just plug it back in and your games will be there. The same goes for if you switch to a Series X or S when they’re released.

@@lil_nap_9207From personal experience even if the External drive is in the console DOES NOT care about that and only erases whatever is on HDD (Internal) so your External is perfectly fine and not effected with any of this.
