You should consider the fact that in Russia, there are a lot of levels of artillery on different chains of command. MSTA-S uses long chain, Peony requires high command autorization for special payload, but stuff like Akatsiya is infantry-level, belongs to the unit it rolls with and bossed around on same level as any BMP it reinforces.

"Artillery is the god of war," said French General Jean Batiste Vaquet de Griboval. Especially 203mm with nuclear shells, you can't hide, you can't protect yourself. If they are closer than 40 km, just run, but you will still just die already tired. Artillery is not only 152-mm, but also 122-mm self-propelled amphibious guns. And 120-240-mm mortars, which are capable of throwing a 100-kiloton mine directly into your trench. If you can't knock them out first, you're already dead. And you can't, because there are too many air defense systems there. You can't suppress them with your artillery, because you haven't had anything like this for a long time, you relied too much on aviation.

Good video, but not 100% precise. Firstly, any battery has an organic supply section of two to three trucks (I've forgot exact number). Second, battery commander has a direct link with his battery FDC, he don't really need a battalion commander to translate his orders to his own battery. If a battery in a direct support with a company, the battery CP is only translating his orders to the battalion CP to keep it informed of it's actions, ammo comsumption and overall intelligence, and receive orders from it in case of, say, immediate concentrated fire of the battalion. Generally it's depends on plan of artillery employment which is called a fire plan (it's beyond the scope of just some preliminary barrages)

Also Battle Order doesn't make videos about military equipment and tech, I would like to see how smaller armies operate in general strategy, tactics etc. If anything the bigger nations are boring because of how many videos were made on them. For example Polish army has combination of western and eastern equipment and I'd like to see how it is used in combat.

Also bit of information for the video poster. The US no longer uses the copperhead round. We still have them in inventory and storage(cause we bought a lot but they're just sitting there) But they proved to be risky. At times they could not distinguish between which end of the laser guiding it was the observer or target. And we've nearly killed our own observers with it. So we no longer use laser guided rounds.

The best hardware is the hardware which has an acceptable effectiveness but can be mass produced at such an exponential rate where for every piece your adversary assembles, you assemble 10. So yeah, Russian SPGs are not the best, but who cares if you have only 20 top notch SPGs having to face 200-400 more than okay SPGs? Hence why Russian hardware is so lethal, not because it is the best, but because of the amount the Russians possess.

The germans make with the PZH 2000 the same mistake as with the Tiger tank in WW II: to complicated, to much repair intense and to build only in low numbers. What is the sense if one tiger can kill 5-10 T-34, but the russians had tens of thousands of them and the germans had maybe 2.500 tigers. The most of them not shot by T-34, but broke down by mechanical issues, lack of gasolin or enemies artillerie fire. Same problem today with PZH 2000 and many other western weapon systems. Take a look at the experiences with PZH 2000 in Ukraine. Then you know, where the issues are.

When you don't have an all powerful airforce, you need artillery. The German army used to field a lot of artillery too. They had a ratio of 1 artillery battalion for each 2 regular (Tanks & Mechanized Infantry) battalions, during the Cold War. Of course that was one of the first things to go when they made that idiotic shift towards a "peace keeping and nation building" army in the 90s. It will be interesting to see whether they will go back to something more sensible and capable now that they announced that they would "re-arm".

Please dont hate me if its a dumb question, im just curious if its possible and i would really like to hear your opinions, thanks in advance

At a close distance, like in a town near bridge, a modern SPG could definitely do some damage and destroy tanks at such a close distance. However, at further distances, it would be unlikely that they would see enemy tanks. Modern SPG's do not carry anti-tank ammunition so they're shells would be jarring, but would not penetrate tank armor. Some SPG's also have huge gun barrels that are not suited for firing in small spaces like towns. In addition, they use large "feet" to brace themselves against the ground so they are not capable of firing on the move. Long story short, a SPG can knock out tanks at close ranges, but are ineffective at medium ranges. At long ranges (over the horizon), they can damage tanks, but artillery is meant to shower an area with high-explosives. They don't have the ammo for destroying tank armor.
