LOL! Thank you guys very much. You're right actually I am not rolling like a black belt in these videos. I was a guest at The Mendes Bros. Academy during their class and I rolled accordingly and respectfully but under any other circumstances this is not at all how I train lol

Jason don't worry man, we all know competition is a different beast altogether... and training/rolling with the Mendes Bro's at their gym is a whole different form of respect and you displayed it... OSSSSS

i thought it was pretty obvious jason manly was just playing defence and let gui mendes play on the attack... sometimes the best way to roll is to let them attack and watch how they do it to learn and grow as a martial artist. if i went to the mendes school i wouldnt roll to win, i would roll to learn

Absolutely love the videos but I ho else thinks the camera should rotate with the action? There are just so many precision moves that should be viewed clearly to learn.

E seria coisa parecida.

Again, he's just saying that's not how he rolls and he's actually saying, "you're right" to commenters. Also, I trained in jiu-jitsu for years and have catch wrestling experience as well. I have trained with Checkmat's champions in Joao Assis, Lucas Leite, and Buchecha, as well as Erik Paulson of CSW... but I don't need to brag about them to make a point about a comment.

uhm, did anyone notice the embarrassing display of bjj by the blue belt against the white belt in the left corner? between the reversals, the submissions, and the control it looked like the white belt was hosting a clinic on how to destroy a blue belt. Good job to the white belt. Maybe the blue was a guest as well and was respecting he school,

Still, competing at ADCC isn't exactly competing in a local tournament. Either you're invited (cause you're good) or you win to get there (cause you're good).

I think I might need treatment for snow blindness if I trained at this academy. A bit too stylish for me. Jason Manly is a very athletic and experienced black belt but he looks out of his depth here. I suppose it's a case of me Monday morning quarterbacking.....

No he not was not and you need to read it again and try to understand what he was saying,He was saying that he was not trying his best because of the circumstances in that he was being a gracious guest, that is not being humble at all. Also i am Brazilian and i live in Brazil and i get to train with world champions on a daily basis and i know that this guy is out of his league, well most people are.

I don't understand why roll at all if you won't roll according to YOUR rank and skill level....if you are a BB then why not roll as a BB....It seems more like an excuse or way of saving face in case of total and utter domination which the Mendes Bros do to most other competitors and BJJ practitioners..

No dude, your English is just pretty bad or you completely misread him. Why do you think he has so many upvotes on his comment? He wouldn't if he wasn't even being modest. He says this isn't how he trains because they're flowing, and he is not rolling like a black belt because he's not going all out, using strength as well, and creating opportunities. While flowing with a greater opponent, you get defeated soundly every single time by someone with better technique. That's what he meant.

The idiocy is its highest ranking, not all students are masters of expressive fighters, if they were, students of Rickson Gracie dominate all competitions, and outside the Kron (who wins or much) where the team Rickson? You are an amateur even going to eat hot dogs and watch cartoons.
