Justice Markandey Katju is the Chairman, Press Council of India. He was formerly a Judge of the Supreme Court of India. He topped the merit list of the Allahabad University's LLB examination of 1967, after which he practiced law in the Allahabad High Court specializing in Labour Law, Taxation and Writ Petitions. He comes from an illustrious family background. His father, the late Justice S N Katju was a judge at the Allahabad High Court. His grandfather Dr. K N Katju was one of India's leading lawyers and served as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and also as the Governor of West Bengal and Odisha. His uncle Justice B N Katju was Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court.
Justice Katju was famous for fast disposal of cases. He is known as a brilliant and bold judge and upholder of judicial restraint. His tenure as Chairman of Press Council of India has been no less distinguished and he has become famous for his unconventional views on many topics.

Katju saheb is ideal and noble person in India. Abolish BJP and make Markendey katju as PM of India. BJP is Capatalist, Feudaralist and Manuwadi party. Katju saheb's ideology and thinking is totally against BJP, RSS. I salute Katju saheb.

We need such knowledgeable and rational thinkers with the courage to express one's views and accept the people who may not entirely agree with such opinion. I also feel an undivided India (India+Pakistan+Bangladesh) can be a realizable dream with a heavy overlapping in culture, language and living styles. History can be corrected after we have played into the divisive tactics of the British. It will also be a great counter balance for Chinese dominance economically and even with armed forces. The so called J&K issues may be settled once and for all. Fear of two prong attacks from foes of east and west in the northern most part of India can also the put to rest. Wish a wide spread support for such sane thoughts.

🙌the guy is living in a different level of superiority complex, he feels as if every other person who has not read well is dumb. And the way he is saying 90% of xyz on things shows his ignorance. Idk in what india he lives where middle class is not patriotic. Will not add much becoz judiciary is the most intolerate to criticism... egoistic judges can't handle anything and will impose contempt of court.
