I so agree with this program. Since no one knows who l am l will share. From the time l was 18 to age 44 l drank to l zoned out. Alcohol was my dearest friend. I was in so much pain ... Please next get Sister Marium James on Godsplaing. She really can articulate this well... We need God...we need in the flesh friends. I so identify with Sam Wise in LOTR. The book is my favorite. Christ peace. I am 77 years old. 30 plus years W/O by the grace of God no alcohol 🙏.

I'm 24 with a masters in Computer Science and I agree wholeheartedly with Matt regarding technology.
Boom! Great interview. I am going to order Mr Fradd’s book. Yes Father Pine if you suggest it. It has to be good. Father Pine you are a great interviewer. Godsplaining that is where it is at. Thank you, Charlie
Spectacular, one of my favorites so far! Crossovers between Pints and Godsplaining are always welcome
Oh nice, my two favourite podcasts combine...
Regarding male friendship. Have you heard of the new Disney Pixar movie Luca? It's about two young best friends, but I think it's incredibly sad that my first thought was "I hope it's not a gay movie" given our culture and agendas that Disney might like to portray. Luckily it has nothing to do with that, but I was not the only one to think that, as many critics wanted it to be a gay movie. So sad 😥
Just graduated with my Bachelors in Computer Information Systems (Computer Science and Business mixed). Very interesting!
I am completely with you about electronics Matt. I do my very best to be free from electronics on Sundays and spend the day with my teen son's. It's torture for them if you were to ask but we have such a good time being together for a day. 9 pm cut off is so good too.
[ ▼ Guestsplaining 008: Matt Fradd on Community and Technology | Timestamps ▼ ] 00:17 Stream starts + introductions 02:40 | Q1: You've moved around and experienced communities in a variety of settings. Could you describe the landmarks of such experience in your life? 04:28 | Q2: Talk a little bit about your experience with NET Ministries. What is your experience with having a community to welcome others to the Christian community? 07:52 | Q3: There's an expectation that having a community is easy, where everything is just superorganic and naturally clicks. But when it's different, how can you intentionally build a community? 11:02 | Q4: Many men, I suppose, feel at sea when it comes to having a good male friendship. What lies in store for these men who are not used to a genuine community? 13:30 | Q5: Men who are addicted to pornography often don't have an alternative to it, in the form of friendship or genuine community. What is your experience with people you've chatted with? 18:50 | Q6: With the availability of everything online, how do we address or realize this genuine need for in-person human communion? What can we do, in a certain sense, to fight and push back this tendency to just move everything to Zoom and die at our desks? 24:08 | Q7: A lot of people are in the circumstances where much of their lives will be done through Zoom, while you and Pints in Aquinas meet people and have them in your studios. How do you humanize when everyone else seems content to drift? 31:39 Matt Fradd on being a slave to the advancement of technology 33:17 Fr. Gregory Pine on principal communities and relationships 35:31 Book: How to be Happy by Matt Fradd 36:40 Fr. Joseph-Anthony Kress on building ourselves up stronger 37:40 Closing remarks
MAKE LANDLINES GREAT AGAIN!
God gave us senses in our bodies to experience the fullness and beauty of His creation. So, reducing our experience for utilization is just not the proper way to experience this God given life.
Matt, whether or not you are insane, you are correct.
Do you have any views on the onslaught of radiation in the home from wireless internet etc..? I worry how the fathers wear blue tooth earphones.
Very large, sparsely populated parishes are ruining community.
