I feel like you have the best music. Many of the other Chanel’s I watch, have good visuals but I have to turn the sound down at times because the choice of music is unpleasant. With your music it ads to the rich texture of the visual content. Loved seeing Kitty out and about on your adventures. Dont worry guys for not posting weekly, this is your life and we glad that you share it whenever you feel like it. Simply adore the light dusty pink you've chosen for your guest room (actually I am planning to use it in combination with a toile de jouy for my guest restroom with some vintage mirrors etc). What an amazing village! So lucky to live in this region. Love what you've done with the furniture. The golden effect is nice. I did the same with my grandmother's wooden carved hall mirror and looks like an old patina. Your guest room transformed from a 70s nightmare to an elegant dream! Products from producers market look yummy. Keep up the good work!

I like what you've done with the guest room, having a bit of fun with color and finishes. I do think some kind of trim between the pink and wall color would be nice, either a narrow wallpaper border, or narrow (not picture molding) wood border with a little detail. Base coat it red oxide (dull red) then paint it with the gold paint you used on the furniture. Use some fine steel wool to burnish it, bringing some of the red through. I love beaded molding, the light plays wonderfully on it. Sorry to ramble, my two cents worth of decorating advice. The video was so warm and summery and ever so interesting.

Hi Robert and Jyrki, The dark color on the ceiling will bring it down and make the room look smaller, the lighter color will raise the ceiling and open up the space much more. I love a good trip to an antique shop, a flea market (boot sale) brocante, and a good antique show. the upstate roads in the North East used to be dotted with them for miles and miles. Since eBay less and less is available on the market, shops have closed and the shows are very expensive. I can still catch a bargain online, and furniture on the local auction market can be very affordable. The finished room and the furniture make such a difference in the guest room. I'm sure it will encourage a lot of house guests in your future Mark & Scott

Hi Mark and Scott! So interesting to read of your antique hunting. Its amazing how the markets can change, peoples taste, thus shops closing etc.. Even in our area here, you really have to hunt for something beautiful, not so easy to find. Online is great for those smaller pieces!!

I so adored all the wonderful marionettes. They're fabulous! I love what you have done so far to the upper floor bedroom. It looks lovely. The underground chapel is really unique and very interesting. Loved your final trip with your friends to the plant and cake shop. The previous evening meal and wine looked delicious too. love your interior ideas but suggest you sand and use an undercoat for your furniture painting, particularly for metallic colours :) ... also a sponge brush is great for metallics as you get fewer brush strokes in your final finish. Loving your vaguely fin de siècle vibe overall :)

You didnt put some protection on the floor when painting that gold paint,there will be fine splashes,always protect area around where you are painting,an old painting big cloth,by the way love you two x

What is the color of pink that you used and what brand was it? I’m looking for that color pink for my bedroom in France and the only colors I found were the Liberon color that was too dark and another brand that was also too dark.

Yes the Liberon is definitely dark. We went with a Dulux Framboise 2 - mixed at our local Mr Bricolage. It was the best option for us in the end.
