Good morning! I see you are putting in floor heating ! Wonderful! We have it in our basement here in Canada and it transforms a cold un inviting basement into a warm, cozy, usable living space. The warm basement even helps to keep the main floor warmer in the winter! We also put it into our garage. Revolutionary for our cold winters!

Thanks. Yes we’ll also put in a wood burner but this allows for extra comfort!
I so love your videos. I live in New Zealand and so delight in seeing your beautiful countryside and you and your husband’s way of life. We are proud of our beautiful country and it’s so nice seeing your new home and how you are renovating it. Keep up the great work and thank you for the joy.

Oh, what beautiful countryside you live in! Your quiet lanes, vineyards, pastures, stone houses and charming villages. You’ve shown your magnificent stone cliffs many times. Do they have a name? A history? They must be a very famous landmark for miles around. I’m sure these days seem hectic and overwhelming sometimes, but I believe (from my experience) that you will look back one day and realize they are some of your sweetest memories. It’s a time of great creativity and intense problem solving. A time of hope and forward vision, and a time to laugh at the twists and kinks that happen to your careful plans! I bet your new house will be as beautiful and charming as your cabin and your cottage.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Indeed we remind ourselves that we are in it for the journey. For the project of building a family home with our own 4 hands that will hopefully be a place where we, our children and all family members to come will create memories. It’s pretty daunting at times but we know that this is exactly what we wanted and enjoy every minute of it. Thanks for being such a loyal viewer and for following our journey 🙏
You guys work so hard, you are amazing,🎉 great video, lovely to see you finally relax a little, mo one deserves a holiday more than you and Olaf, sending blessings and love & light 🙏 🤲 ❤

Another lovely vlog. What a tranquil,peaceful place you have created. I love the fields with the wildflowers. Your family time ( so important) hike was beautiful,the doors on that church, just wonderful! I have been reading up and joined a native garden group in my village here in NY. I love when just the pathways are mowed and the wildflowers are left to flourish in the remaining space. Your cottage is just the right balance of beauty and calm and now the new lawn area for your guests. 🐈Good night.

Camera work is so well-spaced. I've never seen floor top so soupy except as floor leveling finish? So it much be a different concrete formula mix? Home is lovely and the pastures are renewably calm. Hi from Wisconsin 🍺 😊
@FrenchCountryLife
Жыл бұрын
Yes it is similar to a leveling finish I guess and the preferable kind to be used with underfloor heating (at least here in France). They call it a “chape liquide”
Just look at the beautiful Buttercups or are they Lesser Celandines, the camera panned too quickly to identify them.. In America considered invasive weeds, but both beloved in Europe. Look at them closely and see their beauty before you mow them down.

@@FrenchCountryLife Do you hold them under the chin to see if you like butter? Never made sense to me when I was a child? So many wild flowers have vanished from my home country, England, due, I am sure to roads and concrete as well as weed killer.

How do you keep your cat from pooping in your garden especially your vegetable garden😮
@FrenchCountryLife
Жыл бұрын
She has never done that for some reason, she goes into the farmfields. She’s only looked interested in using the garden as a litter box when we installed the septic tank and the entire garden was just sand. We had just found her in the street back then and chased her from the garden a couple of times but somehow she’s taken the habit of going elsewhere fortunately!
