The design is indeed very much...old. But, it works with everything else he's done. Goes to show how important even the little elements can be to tie a room together.

​​It's on the piss above the 'headboard'. Wallpaper is not easy,having done this myself since the late 1950's... Painting is easier and a lot less time consuming and a cheaper option.😊

Do you know what I love best about your makeovers? The way you stick to design on a dime, real people affordable style, using things like those bargain priced high-end nightstands (I mean, who has that kind of $$, nearly $6K, for 2 nightstands??, c’mon man), finding a great priced beautiful dresser, and making your own designer headboard. Please don’t lose this as I’ve seen other KZreadrs do ….

Wow this room is turning out to be the most beautiful calm space ever. Those in your life that get to stay there and experience your art are so lucky!

I love grandmacore lol it's so cozy and calming, it reminds me of a happy childhood I've never had - like clean laundry hanging under the sun and delicious cookies freshly baked by a loving grandma, so I'm glad the style is having such a big comeback and I'm definitely taking some inspo for my own space ❤

I'm about your age and it definately has a familiar vibe, so much like the old homes when people didn't remodel annually, but instead kept everything the same for their entire life.

​@@Jen.O Yes. You bought a piece of furniture that was made of solid wood, hand crafted. Piece by piece. You took care of each piece as it was costly. The only thing changed were the linens, once a week. They hung in the fresh air to dry. Those days...

I think that anyone coming to stay with you will feel really cared for in that room. It’s like a big beautiful hug!

Okay, I have to admit....I hated almost every item in this room individually, aside from the dresser, the chandelier and the curtain rods. I was questioning every choice you made. Then the reveal came and my mind was absolutely blown by how well everything worked together. The room looks incredible and inviting, and your vision really sings in this room. I was actually gobsmacked by how much I liked it. So, I'm here to say I was so wrong. This is why I'm not a designer, because never in a million years could I have envisioned such a room. So well done! Your guests are so very lucky.

Being born in 1944, I can tell you that 1943 was not frilly. We were at the tail end of WWII. People used inherited pieces, loved wallpaper and these colors were definitely part of that era. In a room like this you felt safe and solid.

Why did this reveal make me tear up?? You are so BRILLIANT, Drew!! What a blessing to have found your calling! You are also blessed to have found that DRESSER!!!! ABSOLUTELY cool!

The entire time of this makeover I was thinking “WHAT? That’s not going to work!” Then the reveal ❤ Just how do you make such random decisions? And then BOOM! Stunning! This room feels like it was taken from the Downtown Abbey era 👌💕😍 exquisitely done Drew!

I love the lighter ceiling. It draws your eyes up and lightens up the room. It also ties in well with the bed.

The piping was a little strange for me too. Maybe just me, but if I was going to do the piping I think maybe a cream color would have been more harmonious.

I don’t care for cottage core, well I have to say this room is stunning, inviting and so cozy! Well done Drew! You truly are gifted, your visions/ designs are unique, interesting and beautifully done! Bravo!!

There are no words about how I felt during the reveal. Even though I watched step by step as the room came together, I wasn’t prepared for how the room welcomes you in wanting you to cozy in and stay. You did so many unexpected things here, the wallpaper, the lively green paint, the black rope trim. I don’t know what magic you have that you find such amazing pieces for unheard of prices. How to pick a favorite? The nightstands, the lamps, the dresser and mirror? Each a treasure by itself. The headboard is beautiful and anchors the room, along with the rug and curtains, they bring such warmth to the room. God has blessed you with a mind that creates beauty.

I wasn’t sold at first until the reveal. This is probably one of my FAVORITE rooms you have done. You are incredibly talented

There is the creative part, the decorative finds, the furniture finds. Somehow we always come down to Drew. Your sparkle is what makes people keep on coming back.

I love that you are honoring the date of your home! Even though it's a spanish style home, and you've put in pieces that reflect that, this room is so period. And, I'm here for it! If I were a guest in this room, I'd probably never want to leave! Love it!!!!❤

I love having fun in different spaces and I mean you can always just close the door 🤣

How such a young man has such a mature, sophisticated eye is beyond me. What intuition and understanding of interior spaces, never forgetting scale, lighting or texture - common mistakes for novices. It's not just filling a room with pretty things but addressing what makes a room "polished" and magazine worthy. In my book, you're AD 100 certified.

I am not a fan of wallpaper on walls but when I saw the reveal, I felt I was brought back in time by how gorgeous it is. Drew always delivers. ❤

To me, this room has a very strong Laura Ashley vibe with the printed wall paper, wood work painted a strong complementary color and traditional elements including some ruffles on the pillow shams. The only exception is the light fixture. The overall look seems like it could be part of a home on an estate in the UK.

I can't even..................... Drew, your decorating style is the stuff dreams are made of! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

I really enjoyed the contrast in the room. The white ceiling, the green-patterned walls, then a medium brown on the bed, a light brown in the curtains, and a dark brown furniture piece, all basically in solids. It all goes together really well and carries the eye across the room.

I like the lighter ceiling. It brings the color of the bedspread in and calms the pattern and green in the room. A good contrast.

You do such a beautiful job of mixing the masculine/feminine design to your rooms. I have really loved watching them all! 😊

I love how every room is so different but the vibe of the entire home is so cohesive

There's a peace in this bedroom that invites you in and embraces you. That I can feel that on my computer screen is beyond me, but I really did feel it.

The pops of color, unique furniture, the gorgous ceiling lamp and even the red flowers. Everything is absolutly perfectly beautiful.

The lighter ceiling just provides another layer of detail that is exquisite. I loved the green, but this was a preferred choice by 1000%

The guest room feels warm and collected, much like the home of my dear Aunts'. Textures and colors that touched your heart and made you feel loved.

Changing the ceiling color was the right thing to do. The green made the room seem closed and boxy.

A small thing, but one I just did on the chandelier over our kitchen table, was to replace the darker color, dingier looking candle sleeves for each light bulb with white candle sleeves, especially since your wallpaper background is white. It’s amazing how refreshed the chandelier looks afterwards. The ones I replaced were not only dingy, but had the fake wax-drip look on them. Inexpensive, easy update. Love your room transformations, Drew!

Now that I see the reveal hots, the darker candle sleeve does seem to fit the mood of the room, though with the light ceiling now, white or light cream sleeves might also still work.

Drew, you did a really great job capturing a feeling with this room, as if it were first decorated in the thirties and was well loved as it was gradually updated. It isn’t giving one particular style but more a feeling that I am in a home that has been loved and cared for for a long time. It’s almost as if I can feel the generations of family who have been here. It’s as if you are attuning us to what it has meant to be part of the American community for the last 90 years. Welcomed, at home, storied, loved. Really special and resonant. ❤

The sail boat/steamer picture reminds me of days gone by when off the coast of California they had floating casinos. Some of these maritime vessels shuttled people to and from Catalina Island. This was during the 20s The lady in the small painting reminds me of a lady of the 20’s. The Etching; the trees could be native to California , long before it became what it is today. So nice to watch Drew capture the history of California. I wonder Drew are you a spirit from days gone by a previous resident of California. Drew. Read John Stienbeck. I wasn’t sure about the placement of the bed and headboard. Usually that’s the featured piece in a bedroom, but it really shows off that wonderful dresser and balances out the room beautifully. As always, your reveals make my jaw drop.

this reveal took my breath away, I instantly felt peace as though I was sitting on a country porch looking out over a field of wildflowers... gosh Drew your spirit is leading your visions

I love it! The ceiling color change was the right thing to do. Made the room feel taller and brighter. My only dislike is the black trim as it’s a hard contrast with the other colors and draws your gaze to it or stops your gaze as you are looking at the room. Otherwise, beautiful and calming!

The wallpaper is driving me crazy it looks crooked, or like off on a diagonal , let’s hope it’s just camera distortion I cant imagine you’d deal with it crooked. I think this one isn’t my taste but I LOVE your other rooms!

It’s crooked. You can see it against the long top of the headboard. I have to assume the floor/ceiling is crooked and they had to line it up with them somehow. A strong geometric pattern is hard to reconcile in a crooked room. I’d have used an all-over pattern instead, but Drew probably didn’t know how crooked until he started putting up the paper and then he was committed.

This makeover made me cry!! I miss my Grandma and I absolutely LOVE this guest bedroom!!! 💚

Whoever gets to be a guest in your home gets to sleep in that beautiful bedroom..so welcoming ..you did a fabulous job..
