Nigeria has many ethnic groups and each group have their own peculiar costume designers. The Igbos, the Yorubas, the Hausas, The Edos, the Efik , the Tiv, the Idomas, the Fulani all have unique costumes won during festive periods and celebration. I think you should do more research with the lead I have given. Thanks

The Ghanaian kente is not only a gold color, when you visit the volta region of Ghana the colors are tan, beige, purple, white, and many more, which are not showcased a lot but if you want to stand out and be different that is what you go for. Colors are usually vibrant in dark skin and looks extremely beautiful. That is why at the beginning of fashion, designers use to look for dark people to try clothes on and show it to people (which eventually became modeling)

.. that could also explain the psych and connection of African people with colorful clothes/fabrics which continued to the diaspora, if you go anywhere globally and see anyone in public wearing bright/bold colors like red on red and so on.. chances are that person is of African descent

There are different head dresses . The Edo , the ijaw, the Igbo, have different head dresses. But a lot of people borrow from other cultures. Igbos have their head dresses, but a lot of Igbos wear Edo and ijaw head dresses, because they love it. Igbos have got their fabrics called Akwete and akwaocha. Other ethnic groups have their fabrics too
