My best friend's name is Brigitte. She lives in Paris, France. She only wears Guerlain, sometimes Shalimar but Mitsouko is her signature scent. I live in NYC and every once in a while a woman will walk past me in the street or in a restaurant wearing Mitsouko. I do not consider myself to have a good nose but when I smell Mitsouko I immediately recognize it. Women are amazed that I can pick it out. Mitsouko is breathtaking. I love it. I'm a beta male. (Someone has to be.) I love feminine scents on myself. Why I'm amazed with, however, is the trend of masculine men wearing Mitsouko. Brigitte would turn up her nose in disgust if she smelled a man wearing Mitsouko... you know, in that French sort of way.

When I wear Mitsouko, I always picture myself barefoot by a lake with mist coming off of it. It’s cold but I’m happy even though I’m uncomfortable.

I remember waching youre videos about Guerlain perfumes few years ago, i blind bought mitsouko because of you and i didnt like, i didnt get it. Now after 3 or 4 years of coming back and back to this fragrance mitsouko is one of my favorite :D its so good that I am searching for others big chypres with hefty oakmoss. cheers :D

I think Mitsuoko is the greatest fragrance ever created. My number 1 pick. Love your thoughts on it Eugen !

I've recently fallen in love with Mitsouko. I ordered a sample and didn't like it at first. The second time I tried it I fell hard! Now I cannot find where to buy it in my city of Melbourne but that's made the hunt even more enjoyable. I love the fact that is smells so old fashioned. Like a reserved, elegant, fascinating woman wrapped in furs and jewels traipsing through the forest with her lover and her hounds on an autumn afternoon

Hi Verina, thank you for saying so, there's a complex floral in Mitsouko, I don't necessarily pick up lilac but can imagine it's there.

So I've recently picked up the EDT and it's wonderful I'm loving it. I mean I've smelled it before but I have a bottle now. And I'm thinking the older Parfum version would be right up my street. But you think the EDP deserves a look before I move to the Parfum aye? 🙏🏻✌🏻

My having Mitsouko (edp, same bottle) is two fold: 1) love sniffing along as you talk about it.. and secondly, I was curious about Diaghilev, knowing I will never get it. As you stated, peach and mustiness stands out to me conveying a strong beauty in this lonely world. I hope to smell this off a lady someday... Perhaps, in Kyoto while touring the temples one more time.

Get over it! It is a great scent but as usual not what it used to be. But, if you like it and really want to own it, just buy it. This entire perfume world is surreal.

Wow, this is a long, boring story. I just got this perfume at an estate sale, and I’ve already READ more interesting stories about it. But props on the description of the notes!

I encourage you to try one devotional a day and see how it can help change your perspective on things. Much better than any therapist. My friend thank you for the good laugh..Mitsouko a married woman waited for her husband.. but since waiting was a little boring she found a lover to have company while waiting her beloved husband. However the only ones I know wearing Mitsouko it’s you and Dimitri and you are both so picky ..but.. you have any right to do so since you have so many parfums and you can not go wrong after having the experience from all these fragrances. Anyway I enjoy your reviews and trust your taste. Have a great day with great smells

Let’s see your opinion about this .. right now I am wearing le lion from Chanel.. and it feels like a scunkie aromatized lion..

I'm assuming all those bottles are full of different cold teas? WHY would a Parfumier leave real Parfum out in the light and subject to dramatic temperature changes? ALL Parfums, Eau de Toilettes etc benefits from being kept in a fridge!!! My beloved was killed 32 years ago, and I still have his Colognes in the fridge, and they are as fresh smelling today as they were when he wore them daily those 3 decades ago. I came here looking to see if Mitsouko still uses ambergris but I can't deal with 18 minutes of pure waffle.
