Great review video. I’m a bit late to the party on these bags. Have purchase the YSL in black with gold hardware recently but have my eye on the Gucci disco bag and really hope it doesn’t get discontinued any time soon as not seen it on very many sites.

Great video, thanks! I've loved my Navy Soho for years and have been after the navy YSL, but got side tracked by the Loewe puzzle in tan. I felt I couldn't justify 2 almost identical navy bags, but this video convinced me it's fine to have both! And a great deal from matchesfashion, will arrive next week!! I have the Soho Disco and love it! I only wish its back side had some more structure, similar to the front. Otherwise, despite the huge logo, I think it's very discreet, because you can't immediately tell and it looks more like a decorative design (especially on the black bag, it's less inconspicuous on the lighter colours). I also like the champagne hardware - goes with both gold and silver, so imho it's a very versatile bag 😊. P.S. The Disco is still from the period of Gucci when Frida Giannini was the creative director, who I love! I loooooved her style and collections and aspired to that Gucci girl look. I saved and saved, and watched how her pieces were being phased out one by one in favour of the new designs by Alessandro Michele, but the Soho Disco was still hanging around. When I was ready to buy it, I contacted the store and asked them to hold one for me, because I wasn't sure it would be available, and when I came to buy it, I casually asked about some older bags I'd liked and the SA said those were all gone and that the Soho Disco was a source of anger for Alessandro Michele, that he really wanted it axed so that only his designs were sold, but the bag's popularity was too great!

Great video. I had been deciding between the two and decided to go for the YSL as well!! I have the black with silver hardware and love it!! Plus in Hawaii both bags are under $1000 so that’s a big bonus!!!

Get both. No need to think. I was undecided to choose between Alma PM vs Alma MM, and between de or monogram. After a month with no way out. I got the pm de and the mn mono. Am happy and no regrets

I’ve been contemplating which one to get and I think that the gucci one is gonna go out of style but the ysl is more classic and will hold up fashion wise longer

Great review. I have both bags and sold the Soho. The light interior shows stains and marks really easily. I also didn't like that the strap on the Soho sticks out. The YSL is much better with both of those (although I like the tassle on the Soho better).

I ended up getting the YSL... Strictly because the Gucci one is more trendy, I rather invest in a purse that I can pull out in 5 years and still wear... and I also needed more structure

I have the Gucci Disco bag in the rosy nude color. It IS a great bag but I always feel a little too trendy when I wear it. I recently got the YSL college bag in a more beige nude. SO.....I think I am going to keep that one and sell the Gucci. But, like you said the Gucci bag is great just maybe not for me anymore...

Got the ysl camera bag today and tbh when I compared it in store to the gucci marmont shoulder bag I felt that the ysl leather is more durable and also the hardware was nicer :) can’t wait to wear it!

I like the YSL bag so much better. In my opinion, Gucci bags are very good quality but the big GG logo is so overwhelming. My heart goes to many many YSL bags. They are so chic and beautiful without being too loud.

I loved this video! I hope you see this and can give me some insight. I’m torn between the two brands. I was looking at the YSL camera bag in smooth leather and Gucci matelesse shoulder bag. After watching your video, it looks to me that the Gucci GG marmont in matelesse have a similar material to the ysl one you have and the ysl smooth leather camera bag is similar to the Gucci Soho. I have the soho in beige and I love it minus the strap flap and luckily I got mine when it was $980 .... I just ordered the YSL bag in red and I cannot wait to get it! I almost got another soho in red but I’m not a fan of having the same bag in different colors. This was a great comparison video!

I have michael koes camera Ginny bag that is similar to Gucci soho disco bag . I did not want to spend money . It looks similar and functions so well . All the difference is brand name which i am not worried about

When I looked on the YSL website they didn’t have the bag in black with gold hardware. They had a navy with gold hardware. It’s difficult to tell on camera, but is your YSL a dark navy color?

I bought the gucci Soho in red and was underwelmed. I was so sad because I wanted so bad. I would of lovd the rose color instead. The red was a cool tone red and I'm a warm tone red lover which I thought it was going to pop like. But if you like it l love it for you! If you look at far-fetch website I have a coupon code for you it's10% off it's: Michelle Tate. It's good for everything. Don't over spend if you don't have to.

I just ordered my camera bag last night but the gold hardware was sold out, I ended up with silver hardware. its $300 off so i don’t want to miss out the sale. I find the small Lou Lou silver hardware attractive but it’s $700 more😓 if u have to choose one bag between camera and small Lou, which one will u pick? I’m also saving money for Alma bb. I like bags that can dress up and down. That’s why I like the camera bag in gold hardware. With the silver hardware camera bag, I don’t think it could dress up. What do u think? I’m debating on getting the ysl bag but read somewhere that the bag is quite long, even on the shortest setting. I’m 5’3” and am worried it’ll be too long, do you know if it is longer than crossbody bags typically are or would you say it’s average length?

Yes the bag is a little long, but it has an adjustable strap. I am 5'3'' as well and the bag hits a little below my waist. I love the bag so much and have no complaints. I think you will love it!! XOXO! Good luck!

Hi Amber . I had purchased the bag 2 months.ago After using it my bag has signs of " wrinkles" like little bumps and depressions u along the center of both sides of the zips . I am wondering if your ysl bag had any kind of wrinkles or leather distortion on both sides on the zip area? My SA says it is normal because of the soft leather. I am not convinced though. appreciate your comment since you had used it for much longer.mine is the black on black logo. warm regards

Hi : I have only used my brand new Lou Camera bag 3 times. After stuffing the bag to the full and closing the zipper on the content, I too noticed ‘bumps’ next to the zipper on both sides of the top flap. I gathered it’s because when the bag is stretched, the leather and fabric lining are stretched at different extents and the ‘bumps’ are probably due to the fabric preventing the leather from stretching as much as it could. I have found that if I roll the opened front flap towards the inside of the flap where the bumps are, it does almost completely take the bumps away. I have learnt not to overfill the bag now. It’s an absolutely gorgeous bag otherwise.
