This is "Guardian of my Soul" by Darren Shaw performed by The International Staff Band. This track features on the ISB's album entitled "Quest" release 2013. This has become a popular piece over the past couple of years and features the tunes from two songs - 'I worship you' and 'O Jesus, I have promised'. Both songs feature the lyrics 'Guardian of my Soul'

I cannot stop listening to this! I can hear my Nan singing the hymn in the middle (who is now an angel). So moving! Thanks so much! I've heard other bands play this piece but this is simply beautiful.
I feel so close to God when I listen to this piece. What an immeasurable gift the SA composers have been given. I thank God for inspiring them and placing such talent in them and I thank them for using their talent for the Lord.

I agree with you Jason. Recently heard the Fairey Band play this piece and it reduced me to tears (in a public place, not at all like me!) - so beautiful and a genuine piece of music which draws us nearer to God.

My dad wrote this piece and I watched him do it.
I do very much love this piece both listening to it as well as playing it. It never fails to bless my soul. Thank you ISB for this marvelous interpretation of Darren Shaw'a inspired music.
I believe that god is the Guardian of my soul and my rock.

A lovely, moving, lyrical music. The words are the most important: 'Oh Jesus I have promised to serve Thee to the end' and 'I worship You, God's only son.' Very moving to listen to and also to play.
Salvation Army music always gives me Goosebumps, it is truly a blessed music
Please remember Darren Shaw in your prayers as he is very poorly at the moment 🙏

I heard this piece for a Burial. It was really emotional. It was for a musician dead during a concert!

I played this piece two years ago at north western summer School and it is such an amazing piece to play
A simple approach with inspiring effect. Beautifully played as always by the ISB. Reminds those of us who promised, to indeed serve until the end.

Please can you thank your dad for me, in that case. I came across it last year when a former ISB bandsman introduced our band to it. As someone brought up in Christian faith but who now finds the conventional understanding of 'God' to be challenging, I have returned to listening to this piece time and again for the 'blessing' it bestows. A truly beautiful composition, simple and spiritually uplifting. Thanks also to the ISB for such a sensitive performance. Inspirational.
