so I did a quick calculation of the FPS per watt for Horizon. The 1650 and 2050 (based on 60W), have an FPS/W of around 0.55. No gains there. The 3050 (95W) actually has 0.56FPS/W. So no gains there as well. This is 3 generations of no actual performance gain per watt. And finally, the RTX 4050 scores 0.78FPS/W. The only jump in performance in 4 gen lol. (40% jump).

The gtx 1650 eats about 50w. The rtx 2050 eats about 45w. So really for the 1650 at 50w the FPS/W would turn around at 0.66. And 0.78 FPS/W rtx 4050 is about 18% better than 0.66. The rtx 2050 would fare a bit better. RTX 4050 would be like 14% better than the rtx 2050 in efficiency. However thats at its 105w configuration. You have to take watt for watt. And the 50w rtx 4050 performs around the same as the 115w rtx 2060, so roughly 1.7x the performance of the gtx 1650. You can roughly equate it to be 60-70% more efficient. The rtx 3050 50w is about 20% better than the gtx 1650 50w so its about 20% better efficiency.

I’m still playing with my MX250 from 2019. Only thing I can say about it, is don’t buy a Dell all-in one laptop, really thin, can flip around to use as a tablet. Fan broke and replaced, battery died twice, SSD crapped out and replaced, keyboard and touch pad don’t work anymore. I think they tried to cram too much stuff in a small space, and it has reliability issues as a result. Current use it with external keyboard/mouse, and always plugged in. It was a good deal when I bought it, but didn’t know I’d be spending another $200 or so on it keeping it going.

Yeah considering this is Ultra, Very High and High and can be adjusted the 1650 would be just fine for it's price. Just running at high 1080p on Red Dead II is impressive (up in the 40's).

Ordered an RTX 3050 Laptop with an i5 13th gen core processor. My current desktop has a GTX 1650 and an i5 3rd gen. So this laptop beats it. The price to performance is great. Got the laptop for around $630. Its a Lenovo. My desktop is a dell optiplex 7010 with upgraded everything. I got the laptop to game on the go and the desktop for at home usage.

@@Meechell I don't have the budget rn lol, I am planning on selling my current rig or at least each part individually eventually. I want to put an rtx 3070 ti, an i5 13th gen, 32gb ram, and at least 5tb or 10tb in m.2 storage if possible. That will have to wait for the future tho 😅

Not all people is playing weak end games And not all people can play a game with less than 60 fps For example I own an rtx 3070 ti and I'm not 100% happy with it because in the new unreal engine 5 games it struggle a little Gtx 1650 for 2024 is a bad idea Only recommend rx 7600 - rtx 3060 - 4060 to get the least gaming experience

Anyone owning this Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 laptop can easily extend their pre-installed ram from 5.9GB to 7.4GB ( the ram is shared with the integrated igpu, which it doesn't need at all and its wasting the ram ) and with no worrying of doing anything wrong with the laptop because its provided by the laptop manufacturer itself LENOVO. Dont worry it's very simple, just shut down your laptop or restart and when its powering up, on the blank black screen press F2 repeatedly until the bios shows up. Now go to the configuration, in configuration look for UMA frame buffer size, you can see its value is pre-set to 2G, change it to 512G. Press F10 to save the new setting and exit. Boom!! Now you have 7.4GB of ram, enjoy your laptop 😊.

its far from budget friendly..the ones i come across in laptops rival 3060ti and 3070s in price 😂😂😂

2050 would still be the better buy due to low power consumption but mainly because it can take advantage of dlss that the 1650 cannot for a performance boost. 4050 adds on more fps in raw rasterization and dlss 3.0 but at the sacrifice of higher power consumption.

Im convinced that 20 series is the same as 16 series but with a Dlss

Many games look better than how they would look at native with dlss enabled such as rdr2 and I believe, the performance even at high settings on 3050ti 95w would be so close to 4050 card when dlss enabled because it wouldn't face vram limitations in most cases. Many people underestimate 3050m cards but let me tell you that the 3050ti 95w is a great gpu capable of running all modern games at 2k/ultra when dlss is enabled let alone 1080p! I game on my 4k tv but let me tell you, on my 15.6'' FHD 165Hz 100%srgb 300nits panel, the games look stunning so I game at 1080p at times on legion's small screen and I see how gorgeous this display looks even when dlss is enabled and I get +80 fps at 1080p/very high or ultra+DLSS depending on the game. I made tests at 4k/1440p/1080p that shows how powerful this card is when you turn dlss on and of course(VISIT MY CHANNEL), DLSS is a BIG advantage in 3050 ti 95w so this is what makes it a great card. I just don't get the hate.

You're making an unfair comparison to the rtx 4050. The rtx 4050 has DLSS as well so the perf difference between them will still be large. The 4050 also has more vram. If the rtx 3050ti is this much slower than the rtx 4050 (which itself is a bit slower than the rtx 3060) and those 2 options also have DLSS, well, by your logic those cards won't struggle much at 4k running hogwarts and other demanding titles thus being more futureproof. 1650 g5 = more cores than desktop 1650 (50k INR price soon after launch) and 40% faster than 1050 1050 = more vram than desktop 1050 (50k INR price soon after launch) and 50% faster than 950m 3050 = less cores and vram than desktop 3050 (65k+ INR soon after launch) barely 30% faster than 1650 g6. At best 40% faster than 1650 g5. Bonus: 3050ti = Was often within 10k INR of rtx 3060 laptops soon after launch and 30-40% slower with less vram. This is why the 3050/ti are so hated on laptops. They have insufficient vram, insufficient performance improvements for the price they charge and simply aren't as cheap as the 1650 and 1050 were. Infact, the 3060 was cheaper than the 2060 so most people just decided to spend a bit more and get a 3060. And trust me, vram is very important if you plan to run 1440p and up. My 3070ti laptop has 8gb and I've seen hogwarts use up 7+ gb of vram at 1440p ultra settings. So the 3050ti will struggle. Heck my 1650 ran into vram issues in doom eternal and stuff, while my 3070ti flies through it.

I bought 4080 with 12GB vram and I am considering to sell it because I know in the upcoming future, the min vram requirement will be 16GB so I'll try to get something that can keep up with the games that will come in 5years. I already got a buyer for the 4080 and will sell it today. 4080 is not worth it, let alone 3070ti and 3050ti lol

I guess reason behind Rtx 2050's low performance is wattage.. it's only consuming around 60w.. while rtx 3050 is 95w gpu.. that's why there's huge difference..

If I undervolted the rtx 4050, that card would go from 90-110w to 40-60w and perform the exactly the same, with the same clocks and I would cap the fps to 60 fps for even more power saving(reduce heat= longer life and better performance).

Currently in my country (India) the prices are nearly the same for Dell G15(i5 12500h, RTX 3050 95W), Acer Nitro 5(same GPU, CPU) Tuf Dash F15(i5 12450h, RTX 3050 75 W). What should I consider, i see that the screen is much better and brighter in Acer Nitro 5, RGB, and it has 4th Gen SSD, while Dell G15 has a better RAM DDR5 and for some reason in GPU intense games G15 performs better than Nitro 5, thought its battery is a little lower than Nitro 5. Man what should I consider? I will casually use it for gaming, but mostly for getting started with a beginner level 3D design with Blender(i know VRAM should've been more but budget is limited)

The reason why MSI laptops might be cheaper is because they are not as popular as Asus, Dell or HP which are in the realm of Laptops for a very long time. btw i also saw a gigabyte i5 11400H with 3050 for 59K, few months ago

Asus tuf dash f15 (2022): i5 12450h,rtx 3050(75W),8gb ddr5 4800mhz plan to upgrade to 16gb later. 2. Msi alpha 15: ryzen 7 5800H,rx 6600m,8gb ddr4 3200mhz plan to upgrade to 16gb later. Both laptops are available for 73k INR (890 USD). Mostly I want to do gaming and maybe streaming in future and I might consider adding a monitor to the setup. i5 12th gen is better

today is the first I've ever heard of a 2050

Try to look around more.....cause i didn't see much difference Until i looked at the fps counter.

Hate to be that dude but were there not any laptops with 1050s?..me and wife have Alienware laptops with 1050tis..curios

Perfect proof of not believing the marketing done by companies. The rtx 2050 has more Cuda cores and better architecture but lower bandwidth (64bit) than a gtx 1650(128bit) as well as lower speed. For some reason, even bard responds that even the 35W rtx 2050 perfoms better than a gtx 1650 which us oure BS. Even the 60W 2050's obly advantage over gtx 1650 seems to be dlss.

Is it just me or is there hardly a noticeable difference in graphics quality (especially textures) between all four cards. Only some slight framerate variations.

Slight lol. It is at the same setting it's how you test it, they won't look different unless there is glitches which does happen on really old hardware.

Yea, you need to lay off the pipe man. It's ALL in the same graphics settings for testing! Only framerate counts in this video.

I can't the see the difference either.

playing RDR2 on asus advantage edition getting avg. 40 fps .. max is 54 fs cyberpunk avg 51 to 60 fps and max is 70 fps all of the above on high or ultra settings love my laptop

rtx 2050 just like gtx 1650 added with raytracing feature. gtx 1650 + raytracing = new rtx 2050 😅

Hey I have same RTX 3050 acer nitro 5 but the temperature are going up to 80-85 for gpu. And for cpu even 90 (rare case). Is this normal ? Should I use cooling pad ? Although since it's summer the temperature is high (during day it is nearly 30-35°C in my City).

its ok for cpu , but for gpu its high , use cooling pad for sure always even of turned off . also maybe u wanna lower the fps or reduce the load on gpu to get lower temp

Clean your laptop. It might be the cause, the dust makes it harder for the fans to circulate which makes the Laptop to run at high temps

В общем итог такой: если вы не графоман и спокойно играете в игры на средних и высоких настройках, то 3050 (желательно Ti) вам подойдет, а если вы все таки графоман, то 4050 ваш выбор;)

How's that possible? In Jarrod's video he showed similar watt 2050 and 3050 are giving kinda similar fps and here in your vid similar Watt 2050 is giving similar fps to 1650

It is not a powerful card at all, it must need some extra power to outperform the gtx 1650 by a little bit, a really superior gpu would ve been able to perform better with exactly same tgp.

its unfortunate that rtx 4050 is 6gb. It should be 8gb

I just made a point there lol I was trying to say 30 series better than 20 series and 20 series is only good for dlss and its not worth upgrading from 1650 to 2050 as this is a comparison video..... Considering that was 10 month old comment u probably forgot what and where u commented it's ok no problem.

I remember when fog used to hide bad graphics, now the $1000 card does it as a feature

4050 has similar performance as rtx 3060 laptop

This is not a fair comparision ,if u compare a similar powered ( similar tdp ) rtx 2050 or rtx 3050 ( in lower wattage range 45-60) they are almost similar ( produce roughly equal raw fps) , if it is ❤❤given that cpus are same,and vram is same(lets say 4 gb-4gb). In this comparision tdp of 1650-2050 is almost same ,but 2050-3050 there is large difference . Also note that rtx2050 support dlss which is absent from rtx1650. For fair comparision watch jarod tech video.❤

the RTX 2050 is literally just a rebranded mobile 3050, both perform just like the desktop 1650 but with RTX support, which really ain't that much helpful because of how low their power is to begin with so you can't use RTX, so it's instead just a 1650 with DLSS

@@PCSupportGamingTest may be like 35 degree and also I have checked in msi afterburner my GPU is showing both temp and power limit it'power upto 59w and due to maybe temp that is 86degree it's power doesn't go up and clock speed reduces is result in lag

More fps means more heat from laptop, more weight, and more noise from fan with extra cooling fan. You gain doubled fps but that's not even comfortable to be portable in its cons. If you are a solid gamer, then go with the pc rather than gaming laptop.
