Trust me bro playing on a average monitor and laptop screen is way too different and a little bit fps boost, I have one series a and hp pavilion ryzen 5 and 1650 laptop and believe in my monitor it looks wayyyyyy better, I would suggest buy a monitor also with the laptop if you are considering any, mine is gigabyte g24f

Laptops really came a long way from being a joke at gaming to being quite a powerhouse in a small package consuming low power. Dlss and specially fsr (as it won´t require a rtx card) will make them even better, or longer viable to play newer titles. And a lot of newer titles even look amazing at medium settings, so you do not have to have a beast of a pc to run at max settings to have a great experience.

@@pezzinator6316 highly doubt that. Even my old a8 7410 laptop was pretty snappy, just sucked at gaming cause of a 128 shader unit GPU and no support for dual channel meant awful VRAM.

Specially with modern games it's often even a good idea to avoid ultra/very high and stick to high. The grafik isn't much worse, in fast paced games at times not even noticeable, but the game runs in general much smoother. Sort of optimized, if at all, for low/med/high and very high/ultra are only obtained by brut forcing with a lot more hardware requirement for often just a very small gain.

Install a brand new fresh copy of windows(reformat the partition windows is on) then install your drivers and you should be good

Make sure its plugged in and plus dont forget to keep boost on while playing games. Also for better performance put your laptop 3cm high up, using a eraser or two bottle caps. This will improve airflow.

How does your csgo touch 200 fps i have asus tuf gaming same specs but the cpu is i5 8300h and 8 gb single channel 2666mhz. Before csgo got updates it ran on 100-120 fps but after update it runs at 40-90 on low settings please help!

It can be two things: first: you're not playing with your laptop in charge and its not using all it got, or using power economy settings, the second one its that your laptop problably running in single channel, if you are using with just one memory ram stick, buy another one with the same frequency and you will see the fps change a lot. If its not these two i dont know what it could be.

could also be the GPU itself, newer laptops with the 1650 started shipping with fewer CUDA cores, which hurt the performance of those laptops like crazy.

i have the same spec as you, i really suggest you to have double stick of ram (2x 8GB 3200mhz) and if you have spare of money get some 1080p monitor (this will enable the mux switch and let your laptop perform with dedicated gpu). don't forget to use max fan and maybe repaste thermal paste. also... set battery in high performance too

@@kakaroto.42 The laptop is good overall . if you want to buy the 8gb ram version consider buying extra 8gb stick , that will have decent performance improvement . But unfortunately the dGPU does not use its full potential in most games because of OPTIMUS . If you want full performance out of the GPU you should play on an external monitor . The battery is bad it take only 2 hours to go from 100 to 0 doing light work on chrome or so .

@@aquoy oh yeah I know but just wanted to make sure that my peaks are normal which is 55 like you confirmed now but my main problem is that my games don't run as smooth anymore, for example when I first bought the laptop I was playing GTA V on High settings and I was getting around ~75 FPS most of the time but now it can barely hold 60 FPS on LOW settings
