The reasons why I think the experience is so much better in IV than V is that there is no pay to win sharkcards BS, no apartments to brag about, and no sci-fi vehicles. It's the authentic GTA experience in mutiplayer.

And all without insane grinding, inflated prices and microtransactions. After playing GTA V online I think I know how people in Weimar Germany felt.

They will have you all the way up in the air or some shit. If a player made this cops and robber job, I'm sure it would be set up better. You can get out the car and Chase them down on foot.

i think the best part of this online was that it was way more common for people to role play with how the game limited weapons and not being able to own vehicles

It's fun because of great physics as well. The bad physics of GTA 5 turn off any fun quickly.

Just joined the discord. I had so much fun going online in this game for a couple of years (my favorite gta) and I was devastated when I realised rockstar pulled the plug on it. Always wanted to play demo derby and busted, so I'm glad you guys are ressurecting this community

i remember when i was a kid, back in like 2011 around that time. Used to watch such videos after school, just people doing demo derbys and the other stuff you talked about in this video. I was always kinda sad i couldnt be a part of them, but loved watching the videos.

@@joseph8919 its an old website forum created by GTAMissions, a GTA youtuber from the san andreas and GTA 4 days, where people could set up events and custom games, mainly on GTA 4, and play together on PS3, XBOX 360, or PC. I don't know if the forum or the members is still active, as I stopped playing with them the day my PS3 died. GTAMissions' youtube channel also seems to be inactive, since his most recent video was 2 years ago.

this makes me happy. i love this game with all my heart and will die defending it and seeing people still playing it and having fun like i still do is awesome

After playing it myself for the first time recently (I’m late I know) I cannot agree more gta iv holds up surprisingly well in 2022 just in general but particularly the online mode cause it’s one of the things you’d expect to be gone or at least less populated.

I remember being a kid and always watching Gtamissions, gussi111, TheThelvaneh and all the other KZread channels doing all of this gamemodes in early 2010s. I'm glad PC multiplayer at least it's still alive 😢.

If you remember Gussi111 or Thelvaneh back in the day, the king of GTA 4 Busted, you are a true OG.

Those game modes were initially invented in 2008-2009 by members of the BonerGamesForums which became Office Riot Forums and ultimately NextGenGTA. All those forums are now defunct but you can find a ton of KZread video of the events we made. I was part of this community.

console and pc versions kinda diffrent. I liked 360 version most, for me the game looked as intended, pc version looks like missing some graphic effects, doesnt have the atmosphere as console versions, and ps3 version was blurry mess with 12fps.

Great stuff Rob, is it possible to do impromtu heist missions and use the driving realisim mods with it? Or perhaps a cannonball run race from the western island to the eastern. Great content as always!
