Unique graphical style making it look like it's been sculpted out of expensive clay, and funky but fun as hell driving and physics! Perfect character driven story and atmosphere too!

I'm actually replaying this on Xbox right now. If you can look past the muddy graphics and funky vehicle controls it's still worth playing (great story too) but it's due for a remaster on consoles.

@@Keepcalmandbangscrew on ps3 the whole image is so hard washed out that you nearly cant see anything. i played san andreas an hour before and it was alright on ps2. early ps3 games all looked like that. i will buy it for xbox series instead

Ive been playing this through with the realism mod you posted. Its legit a more alive environment than what gta v is. The car physics, the cops, Even the diversity of npc characters.

I play GTA V and GTA IV and I can say GTA IV feels way better to play, like not even close. Driving around in Liberty City, Seeing manhattan and then going to like Brooklyn and even the Bronx, it feels immersive. GTA V is too bright.

back in the day u probably played on a crt tv at 480p resolution so it didnt look as bad

Yup, I absolutely remember those days playing it on the PS3 using a CRTV; it looked phenomenal. Plus, I was a kid, so I didn't care about how it looked; rather, I was just having fun. Unfortunately, nowadays the PS3 version doesn't hold up well with the blur, jaggies, and the constant fps drop. So I hope that Rockstar optimises the game for PS4 and fixes those problems, and that's it Really. It's perfect the way it is and doesn't need a remaster; otherwise, the game's atmosphere will be ruined.

I like GTA V. But GTA IV for me is something special) I wish Rockstar will release remake or remaster for GTA IV with many new features.

It is pretty painful to watch this low-res in mition 😅 but the PS3 version is even worse since release, graphically broken and struggling with lags.

Don't worry, there are short-term freezes/stutters on Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X too. Because it uses the Xbox 360 version. All versions of Gta 4 are problematic. Still a better game than Gta 5.

PC mods are looking disgusting. Ruins all the atmosphere of the original game.

Pretty damn awful graphics? Just obligatory statement for a game 15 yo that looks still incredible? That's more awful.

I feel like Red Dead Redemption 1 had a way more stable frame rate on X360 compared to this.

It still a good game

Its weird because back in the days when we used to play old gen it felt buttery smooth you didnt think about it.. when you go back to it years later you are shocked and wonder how you even played it I dont know what exactly causes that i do know that going from PC to old gen can mess with you but the difference feels worse than you remembered

I also been playing GTA 4 on the 360 and thought it looked horrible, there's 2 reasons why we remember it looking better: 1. The game looks way better on component cables, and it also looks better on a CRT vs a LCD. 2. If you played on the PS3 and not the 360, then you remember it looking better because it did look better, the PS3 had better shadows, and more clarity

@@therandomgamer18 yes that's correct, but because of the blueray disc drive and weird special upscaling and antialiasing tech on PS3, it ends up making it clearer in terms of objects further away. Also the bigger the screen, the better the game looks in general because visual elements aren't compressed down.

absolutely not. Xbox 360 had more power then the PS3. Watch comparison videos... Xbox 360 version is sharper, had better colors, shadows, LOD's and also better framerate. in most szenarios it simply looks better.

GTA IV is much better on X360 compared to PS3 that's an unfortunate fact, even though PS3 technically wise was more powerful than other it's generation consoles but due to complex architecture, not many devs could get a grip on Cell PPE.

Gta 4 in 2024 is that mid girl in school you sit with and slowly but surely start falling in love with the more you get to know her and suddenly she becomes a 10/10 in your eyes 😂😂

I've never owned a console after 360. I don't know any different.

Friend, GTA 4 on Xbox 360 with RGH, already has a mod that completely improves the graphics, and it no longer looks as ugly as it is by default.

all it takes to run GTA IV best without taking much power is to run it on a gaming laptop that exceeds the Recommended system requirements... any mid range gaming laptop can do it and thus you can even run it otg

now I feel humilated when my gaming laptop can't get IV to reach 60fps as in on console you get movies like fps when on PC i dislike when it gets around 30fps

Gta 4 doesnt run at either 4k or 60fps. Its running the sane as xbox 360 but with more stable fps and in a new gen comsolle that has uhd hdr on base. Definitelly we need a remake on 4k 60fps with adding some mechanics like garages,car customizations,renew this game now that consolle arent as limited would be amazing
