My favorite game of all time, a timeless masterpiece

GTA4 was the beginning of a new era, i had nothing but optmism back then.

GTA 4 is one of my favorite games ever. The gameplay is pure perfection. The basics that are: the weight of every movement, physics, shooting mechanics and driving create a perfect gameplay. Beautiful city, great story and characters and missions create an amazing game.

@@aburrito4973 The driving is just bad, it lacks the sandbox and variety of all the previous games, it lacks the RPG/customization of San Andreas. It has a good story, the graphics are impressive for the time and that's about it, gameplay wise its as bare bones as GTA 3

Killing Dimitri is obviously the only right ending, Roman survives and, let's be real nobody actually gives a damn about Kate.

GTA 4 was so personal, I remember the mission where we gotta chose between playboy x and dwayne, i did the later mistake in my youth where I wasn't focusing on the story, But the presence of just one guy at dwayne's apartment set me off a guilt trip which I didn't recover until I replayed the game and went behind playboyX. while doing so, I noticed that there was an Army at PlayboyX's mansion with guns and everything set to defend him. Such an amazing contrast between one guy who has it all and one guy who lost it all. This game is literally one of the best games ever made.

Grand Theft Auto IV is the best game of the franchise. The story and characters are phenomenal. Niko Bellic is still my favorite protagonist as he both wants a fresh start, but wants revenge for what happened to him during the war and so he’s not as committed to the fresh start that many who come to America would want. He’s a very complex character and I love playing this game every year from scratch. The journey is truly amazing and no matter the ending, it’s not a completely happy ending for Niko as he loses someone he loves. It’s tragic, yet very excellent in terms of the storytelling and characterizations of the various characters we see in the game. I’m glad GTA IV has been getting more and more love as time has gone on. I’ve loved it ever since I played it back when it came out on April 29, 2008 and I love it now. Thanks for the video man, I hope you’re doing well. Keep up the great work and take care!

@@1finalfailure I’ve got it on series x and there’s a game breaking glitch at the end of the game managed to complete it cos I’ve still got the Xbox one luckily. I just want a remaster tho we’ve got a better starting point than the trilogy if it was to be remastered so i can’t see them messing it up. Gta 6 will probably come first tho.

We do not need a remaster. Wee need GTA 6 to be better than or equal to gta4, and I am not that optimistic... gta 5 is an absolute downgrade to gta 4

The only 'downside' I'd give GTA4 today is that it is horribly optimized for modern hardware. Back in 2012 when I played it on a shit PC that could barely pull 30 fps I had no problems 😂 but last year I got my hands on a nice gaming laptop and fairly enough wanted to replay it in 'full' but was left disappointed as even with the community optimization mods could get it to run at an maximum fps of 50 with occasional drops to 40-30 fps and constand frame freezes. Originally I wanted to play original and DLCs storylines but ended up playing only TLAD as it was the only one I didn't ever finish.

You have a really great voice for this type of essay, would love more of this. Great vid!

GTA 4 vibe is different very grey/dark realistic

I don't know if 4 is the best, but what I do know is that the story of 5 was my biggest disappointment with it. It's an amazing game, but when compared to 4, or even San Andreas and Vice City, the story told us nothing, it was empty. I never connected or even understood why any of the 3 characters was doing what they were doing.

Same. The first time i finished it and the credits starte rolling my fist reaction was "that's it?"That feeling hasn't changed after all these years. GTA 5 has some insane missions filled with action, but when it comes to characters and stories it's pretty soft compared to the others, 4 specially. The only plot point i was invested was Michael's betrayal and that gets fixed pretty fast and thrown under the rug so they team up to kil 3 of the most forgettable villains in this franchise.

*Niko Bellic is one of the best developed (GTA) characters, inspired by the fictional character of Sasha Ivanic (from the movie "Behind the enemy lines") and it also looks that He was created to some extent to resemble Boško Radonjić also known as "The Yugo" , a real life Serbian immigrant criminal that was operating in New York in the '70s ,* *He's arrival by the boat in LC kinda reminds of the arrival of Antonio Montana in the movie SCARFACE.* *One more fun fact, Grand Theft Auto Vice City stories plot is also more adult , tragic , showing that the life of a criminal can have damaging consequences*

Great video mate, GTA 5 was/is cool, but I'll never forget GTA 4, it had lots flaws but the atmosphere and the feeling of playing is something totally different..

GTA 4 is my favorite right next to vice City and San Andreas but GTA 4 is just a gem it never gets old it just gets more. Relaxing the more I play it

Most of the video was just that one cutscene. And that was all the video needed to be. Beautiful.

The plot of gta 4 is really good better but the pacing and writing of gta 5 is much better imo.

4 was given such unfair treatment because San andreas did so much, but we seemed to have immediately dismissed that 4 was absolute technosorcery while still being a very good game

This is a nice video conceptually but you need a script, there are many portions where you are pausing to think what to say and repeat yourself. write down your thoughts in bullet points, draft it out then go over it and change where parts are to improve flow and pacing and finalize it.

being playing it recently on my computer plan on modding it, i also got the special edition box of the game for a year got it at a local pawn shop during christmas, great game truly eye opening game made me rethink about life especially when killing vlad with decisions on killing playboy, dwayne, franchis, derrick etc. i never completed the game and didn’t like how it runner on my xbox getting a rgh this year so hopefully i’ll play it uncapped with multiplayer. as for the physics i love them euphoria physics make the game so much better imo it’s not gta iv without its physics. the game needed more weapons and a car customization feature. graphics are amazing for 2008 i don’t get why people complain about graphics tbh artstyle direction > graphics people won’t understand how the jumpstart in graphics between vice city stores and Iv and it’s inspiration of niko belic being inspired by brat and brat 2 (brother), and behind the enemy line. i recently finished la haine i thought the main protagonist was a niko inspired character turned out not and movie never gotten a sequel i wonder that before seeing the ending. thought it’d be a cliffhanger. great video sub.

san andreas is the best one by far, i wish people could recognize that but not everyone can see trough smoke and mirrors of modern graphics and newer physics engines, san andreas just had a unmatched feeling of exploration and freedom, the variety of vehicles, the way the map felt gigantic, the way you could go anywhere and do anything, the craziness of the story, it didnt take itself too serious but had the best missions, still totally unmatched to this day. the technologies improved but the game itself only got worse , its just less rich, less fun, both gta 4 and 5 are like this, feels a little empty and limited compared to san andreas

because not a lot of the new players, played it including my self went from GTA 3, vice city, San Andreas, and then GTA V it looked boring to me when I was younger but now I see the story appears more grounded and mature than GTA V

GTA IV is my least favorite game in the series. It's a game from the time when Rockstar took itself too seriously. RDR2 is a serious game with a serious story, but it's done so much better than GTA IV

I been telling every one for years now that GTA 5 sucks balls

gta 4 has some of the worst open world activities. Gta 5 on the other hand has atleast some memorable ones. Like arms trafficking, buying business etc. while gta 4 does have some good activities like hitman and meeting strangers, the others are just stealing cars. even games like gta chinatown wars have much more things to do in the open world then gta 4. for example in gta vice city stories, you can build your own criminal empire, in gta cw, you can be a drug dealer. In gta sa, you can take over territories, activities that are much more in-depth and fun. In games like scarface, the world is yours, it has a really well made drug trafficking system. In godfather, you can extort a lot of businesses. also in gta 5 you can fly planes, swim underwater which reveals a whole new map, customize your cars, buy cars, garages, boats and boathouses. Non of this is in gta 4. Overall, gta 4 imo might be one of the worst gta game of all time.

GTA 4 actually explores the consequences and tragedy of being in the criminal life. Niko witnessed war crimes and committed war crimes and he cannot move on from it. Niko wanted to live a happy life but he was disappointed Roman lied he was living big in America.

I Love GTA V For its Bright atmosphere and Gameplay but the World falls flat for me, Yes, Los Santos is Bigger than Liberty City but its 20% city and 80% wildlife and mountains as a result San Andreas' Los Santos is way better than GTA V's Los Santos, I Love GTA IV for its Dark Story, Depressing Atmosphere, Best Protagonist, A Extremely Hateable Antagonist and Best Physics. But it doesn't have much customizable that GTA SA Established, For Some People, Hated the Driving Physics and Your Cousin (and others) constantly keep calling you for Hangouts.

This comment infuriates me, the amount of stuff that was improved from gta 4 to gta 5 like the underwater exploration, much better gameplay, much better open world with an actual countryside this time around , better customization, more variety of vehicles, actual drivable planes etc. liking a game is one thing but bringing down another one in the process calling it a "downgrade" is just stupid especially when we look at the amount of things gta 4 removed from gta sa like having a smaller map, much less activites than what sa had, no underwater, no car customization, shit missions, character customization being literally bare bones compared to that of sa and 5 etc. so if anything gta 4 is the biggest downgrade the series has seen not gta 5.

Gta 4 in my opinion is the best gta game there's is no happy ending it's more realistic. As kids we couldn't relate too Niko but now as adult we actually can understand Niko pain. Niko has a cynical perspective on life he shows signs of regret, depression, PTSD & emotional detachment. That any man or woman can relate this is why Niko Bellic is consider the best GTA character. Relatability is the key the factor of winning a character or story over.

San Andreas is better imo.

I like gta4 more than gta 5 because it talks about serious topics and they are hard to miss. I dont know why but it's story felt more impactful to me while gta 5 was so loud, fast-paced and blockbuster movie like. As a result, I've missed a lot of details and only after many years i managed to see that gta 5 has a lot of interesting themes than it previously seemed. Is it because gta4 had one protagonist or is it because it was more of a grounded crime drama? I think it is both because the player gets to see the ~2008 America not from the perspective of a street gangster or retired criminal or abused psychopath but only from the perspective of an immigrant who does not know much about the country but knows it's darkest aspects (so he pretty much knows everything about it lol)

Skill issue? I don't know if you have ever driven a car in real life but if you have try to imagine how it would drive with a joystick, that is most like GTA 4 than any other GTA game. GTA 5 driving especially is too easy. Of course realism does not always equal good but in the case of driving it does. Just admit it if you have an issue of skill.

GTA4 tried going for a more serious and realistic tone and everyone hated it. so GTAV went back to being more Arcady and satirical, while still being realistic. But now, or ever since the crowbcat video from 2016 everyone has jumped on the “gta4 is better than gta5” train and now Gta4 is known for being “the best gta” or “the last gta” which is just total bull. GTA4 is 7/10 at best for me. San Andreas and V are definitely way funner.
