    In regards to the clutch, a friend of mine builds them here in South Africa, and judging by what I could see on the buttons( pads that make contact ) you are riding it a bit to much, 4 button is a smoother engagement it does not grab as harsh and the spring center does help with trying to keep it as close to a stock clutch as possible. But try not ride it as much And it will last longer

    I'm curious to know how you liked the upgraded brakes after spending a short time with them? Also what size did you go with? 328x28 or 355x32?

    great video! looking forward to see how it turns out. how do you find the new brake setup Chris?

  • @DedicationBlog

    @DedicationBlog

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Jonathan Jennings a lot better than the previous brakes. So much better initial bite and better pedal feel (despite everyone saying the pedal won't be good without braided lines...). I wish I'd done like a 60 mph to 0 stopping distance test with the old brakes beforehand to see how much better these are but they certainly feel better and having more confidence in the brakes is a big improvement even if the braking performance wasn't actually much better. I think the tyres are definitely the limiting factor in the braking performance now, as they lock up fairly easily, but I kinda like being on the crap stock tyres cos its easier to slide around

    DedicationBlog Awesome. Yeah I had willwood 4 pots on my clio 172 cup and they where amazing compared to standard. But as you say they would lock up the tires easily, especially as the cup doesn't have abs :S

    Awesome, if that multi puck clutch plate only lasted 6 or so months at 11PSI you will kill it very quick with more boost.Do they do twin or triple plate clutch upgrades for these? I guess you will need one sooner or later... Food for thought while motor is out...

    +Damian Robins fensport do sell a twin plate clutch for this car but they say its very harsh for normal road driving. I'll see how long this next clutch lasts

    what power you looking at getting it upto when its done between 450 and 500 hp?obviously you would need a few more upgraded parts and stuff.anyway liking what you've done so far

  • @DedicationBlog

    @DedicationBlog

    8 жыл бұрын

    +scoobgirl what other parts would you think need upgrading? I've already got a stronger clutch, stronger drive shafts (axles), uprated fuel injectors, and 3 inch exhaust from the turbo back. As for power, no idea - I don't really care what the peak bhp number is. I just want it to be fun to drive and to spin the rear tyres pretty easily

    Well most turbo gt86 go anywhere between 250 bhp to 270 from what I've seen, if it doesn't get more than 350 I'll be surprised p.s love the videos

  • @DedicationBlog

    @DedicationBlog

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Ian Townsend this stage 3 one flows a lot better than the regular AVO turbo so Fensport reckon it is running around 300 bhp in its current state, but like I said not had it on a dyno

  • @DedicationBlog

    @DedicationBlog

    8 жыл бұрын

    +scoobgirl yeah already got the injectors and fuel pump fitted a while ago. Yeah the turbo is rated up to about 420 bhp I think. I think the clutch will be fine for that kind of power, but we will see :) don't think I'll bother with anti lag - as cool as it sounds, it destroys your turbo and its not really worth it

    So instead of doing that... you should find a 2j

  • @GR1MR34PER33

    @GR1MR34PER33

    6 жыл бұрын

    How original. Seriously, a 2jz swap would heighten the center of gravity, ruin the weight distribution, and destroy the overall balance of the car. The 86 and its FA20 are an incredible platform to build on. The more people ls and jz swap this car because they are afraid to delve into the unknown, the longer it's going to take for the FA20 to really take off in the aftermarket.

    +just Faisal because none of us have ever done that before and there's very small margin for error with internal engine components... so not worth the risk really. Happy to do most other work ourselves but I'd much rather take it to someone who knows what they're doing when it comes to the engine itself, and lots of other people told me the same.
