GT-R From Low Mounts 380hp to Single and 900hp - Motive Garage R32 GT-R Summary
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Motive Merchandise: motive.bigcartel.com/
Our R32 GT-R started life as "Project Budget Supercar" and ended up "Project Supercar Killer" after we purchased it at the start of 2011 for $10,500. It's gone from running 10s on low mounts, to the "twins vs single" video that starts and ends so many arguments, to a stock bottom end warrior running 9s as a street car. It stepped things up a notch with a built engine, but now the car is about to enter a whole new phase. Before it does, we thought we would show you a summary of its development from 2011 until mid 2020.

Slippery indeed. That’s why I decided to cap my horsepower and concentrate on everything else, but the temptation for more is always there…
I'm doing the exact same 'rabbit hole' but for Subarus. I swore to myself early last year that I'd only just stick in this stock motor I've got and just call it quits at 280kw.... I now own 2 more closed deck blocks and a Darton Sleeved 2.35L stroker motor.... Fuck....

That 6spd and single turbo did it.👍

I'm extremely hungover from my birthday yesterday but I reckon this is one of your best vids. Absolutely loved it. 🤙
Love how informative & concise this video is with no BS vlogging style like other KZreadrs do, a great summary with no crap timelapse overview. Keep up the great work Andrew
Awesome stuff! Keep it going, hands down the best GTR channel there is and has ever been!

@@fandifunday1529 hi fellow Indonesian!, nice to see this channel getting more and more exposure.
I do love watching the log file numbers as the car is dynoed over the various stages of development, going from double figures into triple figures - so many dyno pulls!
@MotiveVideo

Ha ha. Nice observation. We think it did over 250 pulls on that dyno. Now onto a hub dyno so start again.
It's been epic following along with this project, can't wait to see what you do with it next! Also, hoping we get to see some more Jet200 action at some point! Stay awesome mate.
Great update video!
The like/dislike ratio on these videos is near the best I've seen. Great content Andrew.
FYI Jasma isn't a brand or manufacturer, it's a standard that products meet like JWL.
Another amazing episode. I've watched the full playlist before but it was nice to see the summary & yet somehow I was surprised you're doing more at the end... Got a feeling the other viewer is correct that the engine might be going it Project No Secrets and this may get an RB30 / RB32 with the paddleshift conversion you reviewed recently that is on your wishlist?! I know we're talking huge money & understand if funds won't support it at the mo but either way I still love this channel & can't wait to see what you have planned 😃👌🏻 Hope you get more subscribers, as you guys work so hard & this is my favourite channel... Nobody's better at this kinda thing!!!
I thought you were mad calling $10,500 measly, then I remembered an aussie dollar is about 3 pence.

It's also super cheap for a GTR at any point in history. About 10 years ago they hit their bottom price and they've been going up ever since. I have an S15 silvia and they did the same thing, and good luck finding anything other than a wrecked basket case under $20k today 😖
One hell of a car you have there mate, thanks for sharing the story.
Great story, looking forward for next episode

Motive Video I totally agree, it was just at that magic point. It’s hard to resist the urge to keep pushing, you all are obviously on a mission to keep going and to create content. I think for a lot of viewers it’s good to recognize that ‘moment’ and pause to enjoy the car they created.
7:03 very nice
lol. So drove my new (1990) GTR 3 times...went to change the oil and have to get parts and bit and taps etc because that oil plug was held in the stripped hole with RTV. Still waiting on the parts. I got it this month. I can't wait to change the plugs, and flush the rest of the fluids to see what other parts I'm gonna need.
Andrew, which velo seats are you running? Are they GP90 or GPT1? How do they feel once settled in?
Kyle blew up cause of Street racing, Come on Motive! this channel deserves more Sub's! So you obviously know how to get them the easier way haha, Lots of the big name shops in Sydney Whether GTR, Evo, Sti , VL, Civic, Silvia Etc.!! there would be Alot of 400kw to 800kw+ car's down to do some Sneaky Mexicano runs that you get footage of, All the footage you have done an helped out the car community in Australia about how to make power on a budget or Tech talk deserve atleast 500k sub's for that alone, Time to get some more Juicy Footage for the hungry KZreadrs, ;) I mean shit i might even drive down from Byron bay in my Evo 3, to take Part haha

I thought we are looking to nitrous it, before changing the intake manifold and single throttle body, to hit that magic 1000WHP
Did you ever change the stock oil pump on the crashed r32 motor? I know you went with the Nitto pump when you built the motor, but from what I can see, all of the stock bottom end videos were done with the stock oil pump. Thanks in advance for the reply

i really want to ask you this . why do some rbs sound twin turbo or n/a even when they have a single turbo setup? whats the secret sauce for that iconic rb sound 100% guaranteed ?
@jfv65

Maybe it has a screamer pipe attached to the wastegate? The exhaust gas going through the wastegate is bypassing the turbo and the entire exhausts system . That could be creating that NA sound.

@mirshitin1775

@@berfus7823 I know what you mean, those two you linked have that iconic RB sound. Could be more to it, but the extra thing those two have are titanium exhaust. Titanium has a different resonance and is usually thinner than the classic metals used in exhaust systems, which changes the tone. As other said is that plus screamer, bigger cams for that lumpy sound and possibly head porting. Also, the older design big Japanese turbos had a particular sound to them.
@ytbeusr
4 жыл бұрын
I always wondered this too - Can't beat that smooth note. Pretty sure it's the split pulse manifold and twin scroll exhaust housing - which would make sense, as they still sound like a twin. The 3 (legedary) turbos mentioned in this vid are all twin scroll >>> kzread.info/dash/bejne/pWenk7FynrGXobw.html . In saying that though, Adam LZ's RB25 has split pulse mainfold the without twin scroll, and still has *that* sound kzread.info/dash/bejne/hKyEu8FskrSff9o.html
