Stories like this tells me that it’s so okay to stay single😂! I would have been hella mad if my date even touched my drink that I planned to drink later. To then opening it at the café - no no no. The chewing gum thing - what was wrong with him?! I’m happy to hear that you have a mature boyfriend now❣️

Listening to your date story, I'm reminded of why it's a good thing to put our own comfort and safety first, even if that means leaving in the middle of a date. It's hard and uncomfortable to do, but so is sitting there with someone who doesn't respect boundaries or act grown up.

i have to say i’ve noticed while dating around that a lot of guys just get comfortable WAY too fast! mostly making inappropriate jokes or feeling entitled to be able to touch me like the guy you talked about. it’s so weird! glad you have someone now who’s really great!

Actually it's a good thing that they reveal their red flags or true form early😂it's helps u not waste time or coming to a conclusion. I also don't wanna waste 2 years in someone then realise they are not what they portrayed to you or what I thought they were. Those years would have passed me growing & being single peacefully instead of wasting it on someone incompatible (based on true events😂)

"Bad date" is definitely an understatement... That had to be one of the most bizarre dates stories I have ever heard? The red flags were overflowing from the beginning, all the way to the end where he sent you a nasty text message. Good riddance!

I am sorry for you and for every woman out there because we have been socially educated to be polite even if that means not listening to our gut. I know sometimes we miss the feeling of liking someone and to have someone liking you, but it's just not worth overlooking the signs... I'm very happy you've found someone that makes you happy!

Finally we get the bad date story! The visual you created of him with all your gum in his mouth …lol. I once had a movie data where a guy showed up to our date with two of his friends and then proceeded to throw popcorn at an elderly couple in front of us. I “went to the bathroom” and walked home in the rain. Good times.

Sounds like he has serious boundary issues! I’ve been married for 20 years and my hubby’s never gone thru my stuff. Definitely surprised that you went on a second date. You’re kind to give him a chance.

Huge lesson I learned as an empath that if I fill physically and emotionally draining after being around someone that is a huge sign to create boundaries with them. You should feel vibrant after being around someone.

I find it the absolute worst that he literally started with physically harassing you, ignored your NO about that and kept trying... No words. It's so hard when you're already in a weird place to listen to your inner gut. Please make a check list in advance with red flags you can detect even when your not thinking straight (like "not accepting my no = need to go now", "dirty finger nails = need to go now").... I think listening to your inner intuition is so important. Even when you don’t know why, it’s there for a reason and I’ve learned that it’s always right. It just sounds like that guys didn’t respect you which is annoying because you seem like the nicest person. I would also say I’m a very nice person too but people will take advantage of our kindness. As I get older I’m getting better at digging my heels in and to say no with confidence, not as a suggestion. You’ll get better at it too😊💕

I’m really glad it only lasted two dates, it was actually pretty upsetting to hear you’ve been treated like this. Sounds like he had absolutely no care or respect for boundaries and consent and assumed consent in all situations, which shouldn’t be the case especially when it’s literally SA to touch someone’s private parts like that without consent. Indecent assault. And if this is what he is willing to do on a date, this early on it’s very telling for how much worse things could get when it’s no longer putting on your best behaviour front. 💜 literally had a guy grab me by the jaw/throat and scold me the first time I met him because I looked down when he was intending to kiss me (like I’d know he was intending to) so gross. Also a side note for if you’re ever dating again, maybe worth setting a limit for yourself to specifically leave a few days in between dates so you’ve had time to process them one by one. 💜

As a boy mom, I always wonder who raised guys like that? I raised my son to be respectful of people in general but also to be very respectful around women who he might want to date. I taught him how scary it can be as a woman to meet someone and have them be inappropriate, too handsy, etc. I made sure to stress the point of consent as well because I have been the victim of a couple SA's so consent to any type of touch (sexual or otherwise) is really important. My son knows everything I've been through in terms of my traumas from childhood through to adulthood (he learned them at age appropriate points in his life) and I think that has also shaped how he treats women. I've had some scary dates too, on top of the very traumatic SA's which is why I've been celibate and single for 12 years now. The last guy I met asked me to be his mistress 😒 which just reaffirmed my decision to stop looking for a relationship. Still, I just always wonder who raised these creeps and jerks, clearly they didn't talk to them about boundaries, consent, respect, etc. Even if he was nervous there's no excuse for touching you when you didn't want him to or going through your purse, those are definitely DV red flags, I know because I survived a DV relationship in my early 20s and he did both of those a lot. So glad you found a better guy and are happy 🙂

Men need to learn (/care) when a woman is uncomfortable. Even if we are doing our best to be polite and pleasing (as we've been conditioned to do), there are still obvious tells when we are uncomfortable or uncertain in a situation - body language, tone, eye contact, trying to laugh it off, etc. Those signs should be listened to and respected. Im glad you ended contact with him. Dating tip: dont go on a date with an open-ended time frame; have somewhere to be afterward, so you can get out of there if you need to. Having an excuse to leave makes it easier to not feel guilty or get stuck making something up on the spot. If you're getting on really well together, you can always cancel / adapt your other plans.
