and on a different note do not underrate headbutt you played magic the gathering you should know these type of cards and I'm sure you'll figure it out the next time you play.

i love that grubby brings this game to a new audience. for me, this is one of the three best games of the last 10-15 yrs.

Easily the best game of the 2010's for me.

Corruption is really incredible in the right deck (the two players that hold the longest ascension 20 winstreaks in the world have it in the top 2 Ironclad cards). Its like a cheat code for trivial ascension 20 wins. Especially with a bunch of feel no pains and dark embraces exhausting most cards is often just better than not exhausting them. But it also helps to go infinite with 2 of the 1 mana 6 damage card that draws a card when the enemy is vulnerable (can be replaced with pummel strike with the relic that gives you mana at every 3 shuffles). In general removing one of the fundamental constraints on what you can do per turn is really broken, you just need a high quantity of skills, for a couple of lategame fights you need to make sure that you can kill before you run out of skills (like an infinite or good damage scaling) or build up an unsurmountable amount of block (barricade), but most fights don't last long enough for the depletion to matter unless you are really low on skills. That said with the start of great block doubling deck not picking it was definitely the right choice, but Corruption is the polar opposite of terrible, its so good that its almost unfair.

Since learning you're into these types of games, I'd love to see you try out Across the Obelisk! It's like slay the spire but with a d&d-like party of 4 characters with their own decks and special abilities. There are a ton of synergies, combos, and different strategies to try to focus on by combining various buffs and debuffs.

I love slay the spire but, I swear, across the obelisk is awful for me. It's probably because I hate having to manage a bunch of different characters, it feels so slow. (Then yeah the game is on the uglier side if you ask me. The art in slay the spire is gorgeous)

I am watching older STS videos after latest and I must say: your luck with card rewards and relic drops is INSANE. You got 2 rare cards that fit together and compliment your deck build choice before even finishing first map. When I set my mind to a build, the game trolls me so hard most of my run ideas get ruined after picking first treasure chest. "You want a Mark Deck for watcher? Here are 3 Halt cards and a strawberry. Have fun!". PS: you made me buy the game after watching your first hilarious videos. It's a lot of fun.

This is only my opinion , I have beaten ascension 20 with all classes but I am by no means one of the really good StS players. I feel you should almost never skip your first few card picks. No matter what you get , the card quality is always better than strikes or defend. Long winded way of saying I think you could have grabbed clothesline early. Cheers, I am always happy when you try out a game I love!

Also, applying weak synergises very well with blocking! The enemy attack numbers in this game are such values that the reduction is often just enough to save you an entire mana or two per turn on block cards.

Has anyone told Grubby that you can select cards with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (order from left to right, of course) instead of clicking and dragging with the mouse? If you're reading this, it could be a bit useful, Grubby.

He still likes normal animations more than fast ones. He is quite far from likely wanting to just use hotkeys. Honeslty I like playing the cards, that being said I got all the achievements and did A20 on a few classes and mostly stopped, obvously for getting under 4 min runs they are very impactful. I doubt he'll focus on it unless he goes for speed climber, for me it was easier to just drag anyway because I've gotten used to it.

why not start each enemy with barricade
