Growing Neem Tree from Seeds (Complete Process)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

How to grow #neem trees at home from seeds? #growneem #growneemplant #neemfromseeds
In this video, I collected Neem fruit (nimoli / nimboli) from my neighborhood, extracted seeds and planted them in soil. Neem seeds took around 9 to 10 days to germinate. Once the seedlings were 3-4 inches tall, I transplanted them to small pots (paper cups). For the potting mix, I took 1 part garden soil, 0.5 parts cocopeat and 0.5 parts compost. Growing Neem plants from seeds is easy and fun. I hope you like the video.

0:19 seed acquisition - generally found under and around neem trees (duh). 1:06 soaking and squeezing the pits out of the berries 1:49 soil mix for potting 2:30 planting 4:40 new soil mix for repotting. Very helpful video, hope the timestamps were of some use to people viewing. I'll be growing 100 neem trees (among other species) on my uncles farm. There is a canal nearby and the mosquitoes are unbearable. Hopefully I can convince the villagers to plant some trees there as well to get the creek flowing and prevent future puddling.

Interesting that 7 of the 14 you planted germinated and that they all had different rates of growth. Not all seeds are equal. Will be trying to grow the tree from seeds as well. Thx.

Hi Leena, in this video I used seeds extracted from the neem fruit but old seeds purchased from the market / online stores will also work.

@@PlanterDays I ordered online last year and tried, it didn't work, then I came across videos which said Neem seeds are good for 10 days only. Don't know the fact but this time will try with fresh seeds. Thank you, anyways.

@@weird51 It is better to first germinate seeds in small pots, with sand and soil mix. And then transfer the plants to land of your choice.

@@PlanterDays Thanks a lot man, I collected seeds in late June and planted them. I have around 3-5 saplings now. I planted 2 more seeds yesterday and will try to find some more around my area. Thanks for this video and advice so I would not be looking around for seeds for months before monsoon. I will let them grow and will replant them after monsoon ends.
