Growing a Greener World episode 1207 - Small Space Gardening

No space is too small or too oddly-shaped for a thriving garden! Whether you have a zero-radius lot, an intimate patio, or just a balcony several stories off the ground, you might be surprised at some of the clever design tricks you can use to create growing space almost anywhere. From cramped and narrow side yards to growing vertically along flat walls, nothing is off-limits.

Bobbie’s yard would be my garden of Eden. I could spend the rest of my life a very happy woman if I had that kind of yard.

Bobby's Garden is the kind of interconnected design that I had in mind when I started my garden 20 years ago and I'm still tweaking and playing. Hidden gardens within gardens feel like you are on a journey. A walk in the garden becomes an ongoing discovery. Privacy, mood changes and endless fun. I loved that reflection garden - a very special atmosphere like in all good garden:). Thank you for the tour!

Bobby Blount's garden is my dream of a garden. I love everything about it - such a smart design - it gives one the feeling of little secret gardens and The Secret Garden is still one of my favourite books - so I've loved the idea of little hidden gardens since I was a child. I just love their garden so much.

The use of the ultramarine blue items throughout the Atlanta garden ties everything together. Some people go nuts with too many props and colours and make the garden garish. Nice job.

I put a small table and 2 chairs in my garden; dreaming of hours of relaxing among the flowers. I never sat there for more than 5 minutes before I'd jump up and do something that needed to be done. I've removed them and will put plants ther instead.

I wish there was more emphasis on organic growing so that pollinators aren't harmed as well as using native plants instead of invasives, like the wisteria, that are known to take over. When it comes to gardening, organic, native and edible should be priorities. The last two has great ideas

Really? A mirror in the garden?? Are birds with head trauma and broken necks on the ground part of the garden design? How does this get recommended by a show that talks about supporting wildlife?
