Growing a DATE PALM TREE Time-lapse

Ойын-сауық

I will make this one a forever project with one updated video per year, so next update video in 2024 :).
I also have no idea if this is a female or male plant, and i don't know if there is a way to tell this early.
And also thank you to everyone watching for one million subscribers!
"Phoenix dactylifera, commonly known as date palm, is a flowering plant species in the palm family, Arecaceae, cultivated for its edible sweet fruit called dates. The species is widely cultivated across northern Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, and is naturalized in many tropical and subtropical regions worldwide"

I'm growing about 50 medjool dates myself for the first time from seed. A tip to getting them to sprout quicker is to presoak them. They are tough seeds and can handle a week of soaking. Just change out the water every day. I then did paper towel germination and had the roots emerging in another week.

Actually date palms are different from other trees since they have gender. they are like human beings. if palm is female it needs male and vice versa to make dates. Fertilization occurs in the winter season. The pollen (tal) taken from the male palm tree is dried in a place. Then a cleft begins to open in the crown of the female date palm. A certain amount of dried pollen called "tal" is placed in this slit area and it is wrapped in a way that will not be damaged. Thus, the fertilization process is completed. After the new shoot is formed, it is cut and planted near the female tree. After it reaches a certain size, it is taken from the mother and transferred to another place.

The one plant that I have is fine. I am sure you have seen those videos where they place the seeds on a napkin, dampen with water, place in a ziplock bag and put the bag in the fridge for like 3 months, checking once in a while to see if anything has sprouted. That is how I got the seed to sprout that first time. Have not been lucky since, but I am still trying. You have to be patient. If you get fresh dates, those seeds would be best. Mine are from supermarket dates. Keep at it. Trust me I do not have a green thumb!

When there offshoots are three to six years old and have formed roots of their own, they are removed and planted. Palms begin to bear fruit in 4 to 5 years and reach full bearing at 10 to 15 years, yielding 40 to 80 kg (90 to 180 pounds) or more each, it'll take a very long time to grow a date palm from seed to a matured tree

With my own experience, I want to give some tips to people who want yo grow dates: -If you don’t use the wet paper method, use a big soil-pot, because if you use a little one you will need to change it fast. If you use the paper method, don’t wait to long, the roots don’t need to be fully developed. -Try to avoid soil of your garden because it can contain parasites that will eat the roots. - And lastly, BE PATIENT.

Date is the most identical plant to human beeing. They have childhood, teenager and adulthood phase. Among the similarities between dates and humans, it is particularly interesting that the fertilization and offspring of the date are just like humans. The most productive years of the date tree are between the ages of 15 and 40. After the age of 60, it no longer bears fruit or yields very little fruit. Other similarities are these below: . Both humans and dates have an upright and wide body. . Both have masculinity and femininity. . Both reproduce and bear fruit only by fertilization. . The smell of male pollen is the same as the smell of human semen. . They both die when their heads are cut off. . If both their hearts are subjected to a strong blow, they will die. . Like the hairs and hairs on the human body, the date tree also has fibers. . The colors of different kinds of dates are similar to the skin colors of people of different races. . Just as man desperately needs water, he also needs plenty of water. . Its lifespan is the same as the average human lifespan. . Her calving is equivalent to the average number of offspring of humans. . The ages of youth and old age are similar to human ages. It is very interesting and surprising that it resembles a human so much. And it is not coincidence. Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) said: When Allah created Adam (p.b.u.h) He ordered them to put Adam's soil in a sieve. After being eliminated, Adam was created. Dates were created from the remaining soil in the sieve. Nakhle means "sieve" in arabic. The date palm is called "nakhle" in arabic, meaning what is left of Adam's soil. That's why the date palm is our aunt. When Islam classifies living things according to their structural similarities, it indicates that the intermediate entity between minerals and plants is coral, between plants and animals date palms, and monkeys between animals and humans. In other words, the most perfect form of minerals is coral, plants are dates, animals are monkeys, and the most perfect being among creatures is human. Allah knows the best. Thanks for this amazing video sir.

@@Masda.X Brother. Every plant or a fruit bearing tree passes through the stages that you mentioned, analogous to a human life. Every plant that reproduces sexually has a particular time, a particular season and the basic premise is the same-the male and the female flowers, pollen and the ovule etc. Date is no special in that regard. Many plants don't bear fruit after a particular time and wither and die out... Regarding the other similarities that you mentioned. -Almost all big trees are upright, have a lower trunk and the upper crown like date. -every flowering plant has 'masculine and feminine '-either in different plants or in the same plant(male and female flowers!) -Gymnosperms reproduce by sexual reproduction. -Many orher plants like like coconut also provide fiber and they are like date palms. -how would you define the heart of a date tree? If you are referring to heartwood, my brother, almost all plants die after the removal of heartwood. -removal of the head, which i believe you refer to the crown meristem, can cause the withering away and hence dying out of many plants, not just the date. - i don't know about the smell of sperm analogy. -many trees and plants are water intensive. -many fruit trees have different shades and hues, both in the fruit as well as in the external morphology. Regarding the hadith you mentioned, i may need a reference for it. I wouldn't be so eager to call a tree my aunt. Also, Islam has more basis of classification than just structural similarities. The last paragraph of yours is scientifically unsound and in terms of Deen, it is shameful as well.

@@sultamatar6713 Thank you for your response. While it's true that many plants go through similar stages of growth and reproduction, the point of the original comment was to highlight the unique fertilization and specific similarities between the life cycle of a date palm and the stages of human life, as mentioned in the hadith. While other plants may have some similarities, they do not have the same specific parallels as the date palm. Regarding the other similarities mentioned, I did not claim that these were unique to the date palm, but rather that they were additional similarities that further emphasized the significance of the parallels between the date palm and human life. As for the hadith mentioned, it is a well-known and authentic hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah and recorded in Sahih Bukhari and Muslim. The point of mentioning the hadith was not to suggest that the date palm is literally a family member. Finally, the last paragraph of the original comment was not meant to be a scientific argument, but rather a reflection on the beauty and wonder of Allah's creation and the significance of the parallels between the any other creatures and human. It was not intended to be scientifically sound, but rather a poetic and spiritual reflection. There is nothing to be ashamed regarding what I wrote above , sorry but you sound like biased wahabi.

The plant emerging from the date kernel is usually male, while the female date-bearing plant grows close to its mother. 🌴 also, male palm trees play an essential role in pollinating the female palms, ultimately leading to the delicious dates we all enjoy! 🌴🌴 we have lots of palm trees in our home :) Greeting from Saudi Arabia :)

I met a man who grows dates professionally when I was a teenager. He said that anyone can grow a date tree from seed, but most likely it will not produce dates and will end up as just a decorative plant. But he said that even as a decorative plant, it's still a nice looking tree. I've been growing my own date palm for years, but it's root bound in a pot. I just use it as decoration.

Actually if you want fruits you need to apply some techniques. Because date palms can be male and female. And it is not easy to implement fertilization to reap fruits.

Так вот, я продержала 3 дня эти косточки в баночке с водой , а по приезде воткнула в землю и через 10 дней уже были корни как на видео. Через10 дней а не 25 ! )))

@@salamasaff2014 yeah it works just fine. But I didn't count number of seeds I sow or the success rate yet. I currently have one date plant that I grew that way in an Aloe Vera pot, it's around 2 years old but it just have a few leaves, didn't formed a trunk yet. I would advice to sow them in pots that currently occupied by a plant. That way your eyes can be on them regularly, you wouldn't forget to water them or you don't have lots of empty pots taking over everywhere in your house.
