Eric can you daisy chain these together essentially using one as the steam source for multiple barrels? If you did that could you then also use the one with the element in it to sterilize at the same time? Wondering if one will produce enough steam.

What temperature you people set to pesteurize the compost? I have read more than 65*C is not good for quality of compost.

Hey, at 65 bags a week it should be possible to pay back the four grand fairly steadily.

why 14-18 hrs when others take 4 hours or even 2?

Is this sterilizer good for grain spawn as well as bulk substrate?

Its so frustrating there are so many videos on such sterilizers but they never discuss how reliable it is for grain spawn. I have a feeling the best way is to stick to pressure cooker for a g1 grain spawn then make some g2/g3 sawdust spawn using a steam sterilizer

I would use a pressure cooker for spawn or autoclave if you need tons of spawn.

Heck yeah I just wish I had the funds. Maybe if I get my business moving legitimately I can get a loan for this bad boy haha

Ya, they are not cheap, but if you look at the overall costs of mushroom production ect., might be a perfect step between sterilizing in a presto on the stove and getting a commercial autoclave.

@@FreshCapMushrooms Yeah I have the site bookmarked and am going to shoot for it someday. Very new to growing but mushrooms have become a hugely important focus with all the medicinal and nutritional benefits of so many of them (they should teach this extremely helpful information in every school). Quickly became a passion, so hopefully that'll lead into being able to purchase something like this. The day I'm able to quit my 9 to 5 and make this the main source of making a living 👍
