Groundwork for horses 3 simple exercises

Groundwork for horses 3 simple exercises | In this video I will teach you how to do 3 simple exercises with your horse. They are 3 easy exercises that even my dressage horses do. Groundwork exercises are so beneficial for your horse. You can do groundwork exercises for young horses, groundwork for horses to gain respect, groundwork for spooky horses and there are even a series of groundwork games that you can do with your horse to test out your skills. These three exercises will help your horse to focus on you and should be part of your basic horse training.

Thanks for watching these 3 easy exercises. I hope you go and try them on your horses - do them every day for a month BEFORE you ride your horse and you will be amazed at the difference.

I have the best AQH ever myself and I ride western, but I have bought my granddaughter a pony that’s proving more green than expected. So, I’m very glad I’ve found your videos! Summer holidays are about to start, and we will both be studying your videos and working on Molly’s ground manners. Thank you so much, from a very grateful grandma in UK.

I have a young 1 yr old colt mustang that will be gelded soon. I've been working on groundwork but I'm finding it difficult at times due to not being gelded yet. I've had him for 3 weeks now and he so willing to listen and learn. But slow till I get him gelded here in the next few weeks. I appreciate all of your videos. I'm soaking it all up and watching some multiple times. I find I forget things in the moment of training.

Thanks for these videos Josie! I love them. I have a 4 year old arriving tomorrow and I can’t wait to start some groundwork on him. I don’t think he’s done much of it and I am a high believer in groundwork!! Groundwork is such a key to everything!!!

What should I do if pony (baby only learning , is 5) backs when asks to flex lateral ? Shes good dropping head

I'm watching with curiosity and wondering what the idea is behind keeping his head down whilst moving? It's not relaxation or giving to the bit if he is being blocked from bringing his head up.

Thanks for this lesson. I am helping with a horse that has been in a paddock for over a year. We don't even know how long it's been since she's worn a saddle, so I plan on doing only groundwork until we're comfortable with each other. She doesn't like to be washed either and barely tolerates brushing. So, my question is, how often should we be doing groundwork?

Hi Kris, When I'm starting a horse (never ridden before) I do ground work 5 days a week with them but I have a system that I follow so I guess it depends what you want form the horse and what you plan to do. From your comment above I take it that you want to get a relationship with your horse so if I can give you a suggestion - head over to Warwick's channel and do his groundwork exercises. He is fabulous. You can certainly d as much groundwork as you want with your horse but just like riding make sure you aren't "drilling" your horse. They have to be mentally enjoying it too kzread.info

I have some of these and they are not too bad. Maybe a tiny bit too "light" in weight for me but I'm sure you will like them 😊 (no payment from this company - I do use them) www.naturalhorseworldstore.com/supersoft-lead-rope/

Absolutely Jess. Western and English are disciplines and relate to the way the horse is trained. 🙂
